Jill Duggar’s Wedding Anniversary Overshadowed By Jinger Duggar’s Courtship Announcement
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard celebrated their second wedding anniversary on June 21, and they marked the milestone by sharing love notes for one another on their blog. However, it seems as though Jill’s famous family didn’t see this friendly reminder that Jill and Derick’s anniversary was yesterday; Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar didn’t mention the couple at all on their family’s Facebook page. They did, however, share three posts about Jinger Duggar’s big courtship announcement.
On Tuesday, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard shared two photos of handwritten love letters on the Dillard Family website.
“There are more reasons I’m grateful for you since there are hours since our wedding, but I’ll just mention a few,” Derick writes in his anniversary letter to Jill. “I’m thankful for your love for the Lord & desire to live for Him, even if it means living in Central America to tell others about the saving power of Jesus Christ. I love your fun-loving personality and creativity. I love your open-mindedness as well as your eternal perspective on life.”
In her love letter to Derick Dillard, Jill Duggar writes that she didn’t get a chance to find out “just how amazing” Derick is until after they were married.
“Some people said we moved quick in our relationship (talked 3 months, courted 4 months & engaged 3 months before we married), but to me it seemed like FOREVER till we got to say ‘I do,'” Jill writes in her anniversary letter.

Whenever a Duggar family member celebrates a big life event, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar usually acknowledge it on the Duggar Family Official Facebook page. However, they have not mentioned Jill and Derick’s second wedding anniversary. Their three Facebook posts yesterday were a link to Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s courtship announcement, a link to the new couple’s “first photo album,” and a link to Jeremy’s personal website. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jinger and Jeremy’s courtship will be featured on the upcoming season of Jill & Jessa: Counting On.
The Duggars don’t always forget their daughters’ wedding anniversaries. Last November, they acknowledged Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald’s first anniversary by sharing a link to the couple’s wedding video and photo album. A few weeks later, they noted that it was Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s five-month wedding anniversary. Perhaps the Duggars forgot Jill and Derick’s two-year wedding anniversary yesterday because they were too preoccupied with promoting Jinger Duggar’s to-be-televised courtship.
Last year, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s wedding anniversary was covered by People, E! News, and Us Weekly. The couple’s anniversary was overlooked by the big entertainment websites this year, but Jinger Duggar’s courtship announcement has received a massive amount of media coverage. Perhaps this has something to do with why Jill didn’t follow in Jessa Duggar’s footsteps by using her social media pages to help her family promote Jinger’s courtship.

The Duggar family’s failure to acknowledge Jill Duggar’s wedding anniversary comes just three days after Jill penned a 1,109-word essay about Jim Bob Duggar for Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day! I just wanna say ‘thank you’ for everything you did to give me the best childhood one could dream of!” Jill wrote. “I love you so much and am so grateful for all the time you and momma invested in each of us.”
The message included a subtle hint that Jill Duggar’s wedding anniversary was coming up.
“On our wedding day, I remember you were in tears just before you walked me down the isle. I was your first daughter to have to give away and I know it was tough for you. I was so excited and so grateful to God for such a Godly daddy who raised me to love Jesus, serve others and who protected me and helped guide me till the day he gave me away to my sweet hubby, Derick!”
If Jill Duggar is upset about her parents forgetting her anniversary, she’ll soon have the chance to let them know in person. In her Father’s Day blog post, she revealed that she’ll be seeing her family “before too long,” which either means that her family will be flying out to Central America to visit her or that she and Derick will be returning home to Arkansas to film Jill & Jessa: Counting On with the rest of the Duggar family. Derick recently tweeted that Jill Duggar is not pregnant, so Jinger Duggar’s courtship is the only major Counting On storyline that viewers have to look forward to so far.
