Tamar Braxton’s ‘The Real’ Co-Hosts Get Candid About Shocking Firing In First Interview [Video]
Tamar Braxton’s former The Real co-hosts are speaking out about Tamar’s dramatic firing from the daytime talk show as a group for the very first time.
Tamar’s four former co-stars, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adrienne Bailon, appeared together in public for the first time since it was announced that Braxton had been let go from the series, where they revealed how they really feel about Tamar being off the show.
Speaking out in a new interview with EXTRA, the remaining The Real hosts got seriously candid about Tamar’s firing, admitting that they were all just as shocked by the surprising news as the show’s viewers.
“You know, first of all, we want to let all of our fans know that we love them and we were totally taken by surprise when we found out that Tamar wouldn’t be returning to The Real,” Loni Love told host Mario Lopez of Braxton’s departure.
Love then appeared to quash rampant reports that Braxton hasn’t exactly been getting along with her former co-stars since her firing was announced last month, revealing on behalf of her fellow co-hosts, “We love [Tamar].”
“We will miss her dearly,” Tamera added of Braxton.
The Real‘s first group interview since Tamar’s sudden firing comes just days after Loni Love spoke out about Tamar leaving the series in an interview with The Tom Joyner Morning Show, where she confirmed that she actually hasn’t spoken to Braxton since she left the series last month.

“I haven’t heard from Tamar,” Loni surprisingly admitted on the radio show, revealing that she has “seen her messages,” likely referring to the slew of posts Braxton has uploaded to social media and the dramatic video of her tearful breakdown since it was announced that she would not be appearing on Season 3 of The Real.
Though Loni, Adrienne, Jeannie, and Tamera didn’t speak out about whether or not Tamar would be replaced in their first group interview with EXTRA, Love did confirm in the radio chat that those behind the scenes at The Real are currently looking for someone to take over Braxton’s vacated seat.
Confirming that a co-host search is in the works, Love told The Tom Joyner Morning Show that none of the co-hosts know at this point who will taking over from Tamar. “We don’t know who they’re going to choose,” Loni admitted on the radio show.
But while The Real co-hosts, who are all confirmed to return for Season 3 without Tamar, are claiming that things are still cordial between themselves and Braxton, Tamar took a different approach on social media earlier this month.
Tamar Braxton appeared to let slip that things between herself and her former co-workers may not be as amicable as they seem, after she referred to Loni, Jeannie, Adrienne and Tamera as being “phony b*****s” on Instagram.
The drama began when Tamar liked a fan’s Instagram photo that showed her leaning away from the ladies as they took a selfie alongside the caption, “when you in a room full of phony b*****s, it’s best to distance yourself.”
Braxton then left a pretty telling comment on the fan’s upload, writing, “Pretty much.”
But despite the social media shade, Braxton later appeared to backtrack on her remarks, claiming that her social media slam was “just jokes.”
After it was announced that Tamar had landed her own talk show, to be produced by Steve Harvey, Braxton appeared to clarify her comment on Instagram with a selfie.
“Happy. Positive. And not an ill will toward ANYONE or ANYTHING, Braxton captioned the photo. “I may joke or shade (and that’s just jokes) but know in order for him to use me my HEART is pure and FULL of LOVE! Walk into your light and destiny.”
