Tyga Claims Kylie Jenner’s Success Overshadowed His Career, But Hints At Possible Reunion [Video]

Did Kylie Jenner’s fame overshadow Tyga’s career? According to the rapper himself, that’s exactly what happened.

In a recent interview with BigBoy TV on June 17, via Us magazine, Tyga suggested that even though he’s a huge celebrity, his fans don’t really know that much about him, pointing to his very public relationship with Kylie Jenner as the cause. The couple split up recently after two years together, a decision that both agree was mutual.

“When you’re in a very public relationship like that,” Tyga began, “it’s hard for other people to see you differently than that.” The rapper explained that being with someone as famous as the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star “took a lot, career-wise, everything” because he wasn’t his own man anymore; he was half of “Kyga.”

“It overshadowed a lot of my talents and a lot of things that I worked hard for,” Tyga concluded.

While tabloids pointed to rumors that Tyga was a serial cheater, and Kylie finally had enough, the “Cash Money” rapper confirmed that the split came from both sides, and it was just time to end it. It seemed both celebrities finally had enough of being constantly compared in the media spotlight, and it was time to work on their own projects.

“It got to the point where it was like, ‘I respect you, you respect me,'” Tyga explained about the decision to finally end their relationship after being on again, off again for the past few months.

Kylie has not said much about the break up, simply sharing over Snapchat that “I love really hard.” Fans assume they will have to wait for an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians before finding out Jenner’s true feelings about breaking up with Tyga.

Since she split with Tyga, Jenner has been spotted with rapper PartyNextDoor on several occasions, and is rumored to be romantically linked to him. Naturally, Jenner herself has not confirmed whether she is dating PartyNextDoor.

The split was mature and friendly, however, with Kylie Jenner publicly defending Tyga when rumors surfaced that the rapper owed her $2 million. “Lies, lies, lies,” Jenner confirmed over Twitter.

Even though they’re still friendly, Tyga and Jenner have definitely split, with Tyga noting that “[w]hen something is so damaged or something is just not right, you can’t fix it in a moment;” although, he does not mention what the problems in their relationship were.

The rapper does indicate, however, that there’s a possibility they might reunite in the future.

“Maybe later on in life, maybe we might come back,” Tyga hinted, adding that Kylie Jenner is “young.” While it’s not clear whether Tyga is blaming Jenner’s age on their split, the “Stimulated” singer admitted that “[w]hen you’re young, you’re going to make mistakes. All of those mistakes are going to be in the public eye so that puts a lot of strain on the relationship.”

As for whether they will get back together, the only thing that can repair their broken relationship “is time.” But that doesn’t mean Tyga, who recently confirmed again that he allegedly was never given royalty checks from record label Cash Money, will jump immediately into a relationship with someone else.

Although Tyga has been spotted with several beauties on his arm since his split from Kylie became official, he has confirmed that he’s definitely single. “Right now, I want to focus on what I need to do,” Tyga explained, emphasizing that he’s tired of being associated with another person.

“I just wanted to get back to just me.”

According to Tyga, Jenner feels the same way, concluding “I think for her as well.”
