‘The 100’ Season 4: Writers Tease New Leadership And Character Development? [Spoilers]

The 100 Season 4 will have a new threat and a new storyline. What can fans expect when The CW post-apocalyptic series returns next year? The writers of the TV show went to social media to give a few teasers. Although not confirmed, it seems like viewers may see new leadership and some character development in Season 4.

Warning: Possible spoilers for The 100 Season 4 are ahead.

When The 100 was last on the air, Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) saved the day, but she wasn’t alone. The heroine went to the City of Light and managed to survive thanks to Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) showing up. In the end, Alie (Erica Cerra) was stopped, but Clarke was given a warning. According to the artificial intelligence entity, the world would be uninhabitable within six months due to a nuclear threat.

Fans are debating whether the AI was telling the truth or lying. However, one fan in a Facebook group for The 100 speculated that it was a little of both.

Moving forward to Season 4, writers for The 100 posted hints on Instagram on what to expect. Since beginning writing the script, each day one teaser has been given. The hint for “Day 20” was posted just two days ago. A sign with the word “charactiony” was uploaded to social media. While it is not an actual word, it does seem to tease something about the cast. Character action, perhaps? While that is a good guess, it seems likely that the writers are working on character development.

Maybe fans will see the development of new characters or the original ones will be seen in a new light. Some possibilities are Jaha (Isaiah Washington), Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos), Raven (Lindsey Morgan), Bellamy (Bob Morley), and of course, Clarke. All of them went through a difficult time in The 100 during Season 3. The events will haunt some of them forever and may change some of them, as well.

Another interesting post by the writers of The 100 was posted on “Day 21.” Once again a sign was photographed, this time with the phrase, “Who’s the boss?” Clarke has always been considered the leader in The 100, even though Bellamy did assume a lot of those responsibilities, too. However, could fans be seeing a new leader in Season 4 of The 100? Raven would be an excellent choice as leader and due to the nuclear threat, Raven would have the skills to figure out how to handle the crisis.

“Who’s the boss” may also refer to a new Commander being chosen. Maybe Lexa will make another appearance and reveal who should replace her as leader of the Grounder clan.

Other spoilers for The 100 Season 4 include a scientific equation, but who would come up with the right formula? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Jasper (Devon Bostick) mentioned to Octavia that he aced chemistry. Could this be a clue that his knowledge of chemistry along with Raven’s tech and mechanical skills could have them saving the day?

Recently, the cast gave their thoughts on what should happen in The 100 Season 4. Bob Morley would like to see Bellamy and Octavia repair their relationship. However, with what Bellamy did, is forgiveness possible? Marie Avgeropoulos wants a different storyline. The actress said that she would like Octavia to “go rogue.”

As for Jaha in The 100, Isaiah Washington spoke at The CW Upfront presentation about his character getting followers again. That might be difficult based on last season’s events. As fans recall, Jaha had everyone following an AI who tried to destroy them in a bizarre attempt to save humanity.

What do you think of what the writers of The 100 posted on social media? What does “charactiony” mean? Who will be “the boss” in Season 4? Unfortunately, viewers will not find out in fall 2016. As TV Line reported, The CW did not put the show on the schedule for this year. That means fans will be waiting until early 2017 before seeing what will happen next.
