CW’s Arrow star Stephen Amell is going to have a new ally this coming Season 5. His new buddy is going to be Chicago P.D. hunk, Josh Segarra. As the fans await the premiere of Arrow Season 5, this is the best time to get to know the new member of Oliver’s team.

Over the past four seasons, Arrow has evolved from Oliver just being a one-man team who’s set to avenge his father and save Starling City. Now, Oliver Queen is tasked to protect the city from its political woes. Though he is now the mayor of the city, Oliver did not drop his vigilante escapades and this is where Segarra would come in.

Segarra will be recruited by Oliver Queen from the outside. Josh Segarra will be playing the role of Star City’s new district attorney. Adrian Chase, his character and alter ego, has a dark history.

Adrian Chase was just a high-end Manhattan District Attorney who was working towards cleaning the Mafia presence in the region. This is where he got in contact with the New Teen Titans. However, Chase’s wife and son were both killed by a bomb planted by the Mafia. That is when he became a vigilante just like Arrow’s star, Oliver Queen.

With similar pain and desire for revenge, Oliver Queen and Adrian Chase share middle ground.

In becoming a vigilante, Chase made it a point to train his body and mind. He even underwent spiritual training. After living the vigilante life, Adrian Chase would realize that he has come so far from his initiative in life which is to abide by the law.

He will try going back to his “normal” life as a lawyer, but Oliver Queen might change his mind again.

Josh Segarra, the Right Amount of Vigilante and Angel

The real life actor behind Adrian Chase, Josh Segarra, is perfect for the role. Aside from the fact that he is a part of a law enforcement focused TV show Chicago P.D., Segarra has surmountable experience to fill in the role.

Segarra graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He became a part of the 70’s kids’ show The Electric Company. On top of that, he also joined Broadway and he appeared on TV in his role in Homeland.

Segarra also joined Amy Schumer’s movie, Trainwreck. In 2013, he worked on a gaming project, Grand Theft Auto V where he was a voice actor.

Then, in 2014, he joined Chicago P.D. and played the role of Justin Voight. So far, his role as Justin Voight might be the closest role to his new character Adrian Chase.

Justin Voight is the rebel son of Chicago Fire’s team leader, Henry “Hank” Voight. Though Segarra’s role here seems like the badass, lazy son, he was enlisted in the United States Army where he had no choice but to train and fight.

In his personal life, Josh Segarra has a couple of similarities with Adrian Chase. Both of them are fit. He likes going out. He has an amazing wife and kid.

One other quirky trait about Oliver Queen’s new buddy is he is quite a fan of wrestling. On his Instagram account, he would post photos of WWE matches, which he watches live.

Segarra will join the regular casts of Arrow after the show ends its feature on Katie Cassidy who plays Black Canary.
