Why Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Won’t Leave Taylor Swift Alone [Video]
Kim Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, just will not leave Taylor Swift alone, according to Swift’s people. But both Kanye and Kim claim that throughout every public slam and controversial interaction, Taylor Swift has been in it all along. So which is it?
Kanye West’s “Famous” lyrics, off his latest record The Life of Pablo, caused a media scandal when he claimed that “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex…Why? I made that b—h famous.” West is referring to the infamous 2009 incident when he stormed the stage at the MTV Video Awards, angry that Swift received Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me” instead of Beyoncé for her video for “Single Ladies.”
During the shocking incident, Kanye announced “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”
The two have publicly slammed each other since, with Taylor making a public dig at Kanye as she accepted a Grammy award for Album of the Year for her release, 1989, telling her young fans to look out for themselves.
“There will be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments, your fame…But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get to where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know it was you.”

But according to Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift’s disgust is just an act. In her latest interview with GQ magazine, Kim Kardashian revealed that although Swift “cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone,” Kim Kardashian and her husband have kept her, or at least her people, informed every step of the way.
Kim claims that Taylor “totally gave the okay” about the “Famous” lyrics, adding that “Rick Rubin was there.” Kim Kardashian also confirmed that “[s]o many respected people in the music business heard that [conversation] and knew.”
Kardashian added that “[s]he totally knew that that was coming out” and expressed irritation that Taylor “wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.” In fact, Kim Kardashian claims that not only were there eyewitnesses to the conversation, but there is video footage to prove it. But since Kim and Kanye have been getting mixed signals from Taylor’s camp, they haven’t made it publicly available yet.
According to Kim, the footage was recorded by a videographer who was filming Kardashian, West, and their crew during the creation of The Life of Pablo. But while Swift’s people believe that Kim Kardashian and her husband should make the alleged video available for anyone to see, the couple have also gotten a letter from an attorney demanding the footage to remain private or get destroyed.
Although Kanye West was asked about the video footage, his people wouldn’t make either the letter or the video available. They did, however, back up Kim’s statements in GQ.
On Twitter, Kanye confirmed that there was a phone call between him and Taylor Swift, and the 1989 artist signed off on the “Famous” lyrics, sharing, “I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.”
Kim Kardashian backs up her husband, telling GQ, “I swear, my husband gets so much [s–t] for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved….What rapper would call a girl that he was rapping a line about to get approval?”
