‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Will Jaime Be Forced To Kill The Woman He Loves?
Game of Thrones Season 6 is so close to the end, and fans are on the edge of their seats trying to figure out what will happen next, and in future seasons.
According to The Telegraph, it is possible that Game of Thrones fans will see a shocking moment when Jaime Lannister will have to kill the woman he loves.
Fans of the novels and the HBO series have long predicted that Jaime Lannister will have to tragically kill his sister, Cersei Lannister, who also happens to be his lover. Now, a new theory posted by a Reddit user has people talking about why Jaime may actually end Cersei’s life.
To understand the reason behind this latest Game of Thrones theory, fans must remember the prophecy that Cersei was told by a witch, named Maggy The Frog, when she was a young girl.
Maggy told Cersei that she was to become queen and have three children. Maggy also revealed that Cersei’s children would all have crowns of gold, which could mean their royal crowns, or their hair color. “Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds,” Maggy says, basically telling Cersei that she’ll see all of her children die.
However, while Cersei may see all three of her children’s lives end, her own fate still remains to be seen. In the Game of Thrones book series, the second part of the prophecy reveals that Cersei will be strangled to death at the hands of someone referred to as “the Valonqar.”In the Game of Thrones universe, the word Valonqar is Valyrian, and means “little brother.” While many fans would immediately speculate that Cersei could easily die at the hands of her younger brother, Tyrion, whom she has always hated and tormented, another theory has popped up.
As many viewers know, Jaime and Cersei are twins. However, Cersei was born first, and technically that means that Jaime is her younger brother. But why would Jaime ever want to kill Cersei, whom he has professed his undying love to?
Game of Thrones viewers have witnessed Jaime become very jealous of Cersei’s other sexual partners, and he’s admitted that he’s never been with another woman but his sister. Cersei moving on with another man could push Jaime over the edge.
However, the newly talked about Reddit theory offers a more interesting possible reason about why Jaime would murder Cersei.
The theory basically reveals that Jaime may be forced to kill his sister to prevent her from destroying King’s Landing with Wildfire, the highly flammable liquid that burns a bright green flame, and was used by Tyrion to win the Battle of the Blackwater in Season 2.
“Jaime’s character development is largely centered around one event: the killing of the Mad King after he ordered the burning of King’s Landing by wildfire,” writes Reddit user RobertGoulet850, referring to the event that earned Jaime the nickname of King Slayer.“So what can Cersei possibly do to make her choke-worthy? How about the same thing as Aerys II? A week ago on the show we saw in Bran’s visions that wildfire explodes under King’s Landing. This hasn’t happened yet so the implication is that it may be a future event. I believe the only person in King’s Landing as mad as the Mad King is Cersei and that she will give the order.”
Game of Thrones fans know that Cersei will soon stand trial in King’s Landing, and if things don’t go her way, she may have formulated a crazy back-up plan to destroy the city and run away with Tommen or Jaime to her freedom.
It may be a crazy theory, but the show has done a lot of shocking storylines in the past. Jaime killing his beloved Cersei would certainly be one of the most stunning moments of the series.
