Gwen Stefani Celebrates Parents 50th Wedding Anniversary, Where Was Blake Shelton?
Gwen Stefani had reason to celebrate over the weekend.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that Stefani and her children, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2, congratulated her parents on their 50th anniversary this past Saturday.
The only person missing from the celebrations was Stefani’s boyfriend, Blake Shelton.
Stefani congratulated Mr. and Mrs. Stefani with a special message on Snapchat.
“Congrats 50 years married!!!” Stefani wrote alongside a picture of her posing with her parents.
According to Celebrity Baby Scoop, Stefani sported a layered look for the outing, complete with a dark T-shirt and flannel jacket.
Although Stefani’s parents managed to make it through 50 years together, the pop star wasn’t so lucky in her own married life. The “Misery” singer went through a heartbreaking divorce with Gavin Rossdale last summer.
Stefani has yet to dish on the details surrounding her divorce, but she has hinted that Rossdale was unfaithful. In fact, rumors have persisted that Rossdale cheated on Stefani with their children’s nanny.
The two ended their union after 10 years together.
When speaking to Pride Source, Stefani opened up about what her parents’ love has meant to her and how her divorce left her embarrassed.
“My whole life all I wanted to do was be a mother and a wife, and I had the dream of having this family because that’s what I had,” Stefani shared in the interview. “I have parents who’ve been married since high school, who are in love, and they’re still in love … I had a perfect example, so it’s super tragic for me. My dreams are shattered, and I feel so embarrassed about what happened.”
Meanwhile, Stefani and her children finished off the special day with a visit to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park. Stefani shared some pictures of the fun outing on social media, leaving fans wondering about Shelton’s whereabouts.
So where was Shelton during all of the family festivities?
While Stefani spent some family time with her sons and parents, Shelton was performing at the 2016 CMA Music Festival.
Although Stefani is clearly disappointed with how her first marriage turned out, her relationship with Shelton appears stronger than ever.
According to Enstarz, however, Gwen Stefani is not willing to change everything for her new boyfriend.
It is well known that Shelton has a lot of love for the outdoors, including a passion for hunting. Not only is Stefani unwilling to join him on a hunt, but she’s also an active supporter of animal rights.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, Shelton opened up about his love for hunting and how Stefani might react to his hunting trips.
Shelton admitted that his former wife Miranda Lambert had no qualms about going on a hunt with him. When it comes to Stefani, however, Shelton was less confident.
Apparently, Shelton doesn’t think Stefani will lace up a pair of boots and hunt with him, at least not yet.
“I can just see her [saying], ‘Get him!'” Shelton joked with the outlet. “That makes me laugh.”
Shelton and Stefani have been together since last November, months after their respective divorces.
Ever since their romance heated up on the set of The Voice, fans have watched them grow closer and closer together. Although they both have very busy schedules this summer promoting new music, fans can expect more of the same public displays of affection in the coming months.
While they have yet to announce plans to walk down the aisle together, all signs point towards a future wedding. Whether or not their potential marriage lasts as long as Stefani’s parents is yet to be seen.
