Adam Levine Offers To Pay For Christina Grimmie’s Funeral As GoFundMe Continues To Grow For Star Of ‘The Voice’
This past weekend in Orlando, Florida, was one of the most horrific and tragic in the history of the United States of America. So much focus is on the Pulse nightclub shooting, and rightfully so, which left 50 dead. Just two nights prior, Christina Grimmie of The Voice was shot dead at a club in Orlando while doing a meet-and-greet with fans. As her family deals with that grief, Adam Levine is looking to help by paying for her funeral and a GoFundMe made in her honor is growing by the minute.
Adam Levine had gotten closer to Grimmie as she performed on The Voice and actually ended up being a member of his team after choosing him over the other three coaches. On Friday night, the 22-year-old was shot and killed at a nightclub she had just performed in, and the world didn’t even know what to think about it.
She was just 22-years-old.
Billboard had reported early on Monday that Levine had offered to pay all of the funeral expenses for Christina Grimmie. Christina’s brother Marcus said he found out that Levine called his mother and said, “he will pay for her funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away.”
It now appears as if it is no longer just an offer.

Adam Levine’s generosity knows no bounds, and Marcus said that “words cannot express” how grateful he and his family are to the singer and coach on The Voice. There is so much more being done for Christina Grimmie, though, and it is coming from thousands of people through a GoFundMe account.
When it was set up two days ago, the “Support The Grimmie Family” account was hoping to raise $4,000. In a little more than 48 hours, more than 5,700 people have donated and the account has raised $139,958 as of late Monday night.
Grimmie’s agent Brian Teefey set up the GoFundMe account in the hopes of being able to help out her family in this time of sadness. Entertainment Weekly reported that he was just hoping to help them get to a point where they wouldn’t have to worry when they should have the time to grieve.“In Christina’s honor I have created a Go Fund Me page to assist her family in their time of need. As family Mother, Father, and Brother made the ultimate family sacrifice to support Christina on her musical journey. They did nothing but love her and support her as family the best they knew how, the only worry I want them to have at this point is that of recovery.”
Those that knew Christina Grimmie just hoped that she would be able to share her love, talent, and music with the rest of the world. After showcasing her ability and getting a big break on The Voice, her friends and family thought she was easily on the way to doing just that.
This past weekend is one that the world would like to forget, but they will never want to move away from the memory of all of those who were lost. So many lives were taken far too soon at the Pulse nightclub after a gunman decided to open fire. On Friday night, young Christina Grimmie was taken at an age when she still had her whole life in front of her. Many believed in her and what she would do in life, and that is why Adam Levine and so many on the GoFundMe page are stepping up to honor her.[Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images]
