The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will not return for a while, but fans can’t stop talking about what will happen next. One theory that is sweeping the web is the possibility that Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) may sacrifice herself, which would bring Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) back to save Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). Is it possible that this could happen when TVD returns?

On the last episode of The Vampire Diaries, Damon Salvatore saved Bonnie Bennett. However, nobody guessed that Damon would be in the predicament he is in now. Fans also had no idea that Enzo would be another TVD character to become the mystery monster’s victim. However, that is exactly what happened, and now Damon and Enzo are on a murdering spree. How do Bonnie and Elena play into this storyline?

As fans know, Elena is in a deep slumber until Bonnie dies. It was an interesting way to let Nina Dobrev out of The Vampire Diaries without killing Elena off. However, it made fans constantly worry about Bonnie’s fate if Dobrev ever chose to come back. With the news that Nina is definitely returning for the final episode of the TV show, viewers are busy speculating on exactly how that will happen.

Recently, Parent Herald speculated that Bonnie Bennett could sacrifice herself, which would allow Elena to wake up and then Damon could be saved. It is a good theory, but it seems unlikely that Bonnie would sacrifice her own life, even if was the only way to save Damon. Bonnie is not suicidal, no matter how dire her circumstances are. Kat Graham’s character is one of the strongest of the entire group. Although she will be having a tough time emotionally in Season 8, she won’t be ready to give up her life.

However, Bonnie could unknowingly sacrifice herself by going after Damon and Enzo in The Vampire Diaries Season 8. The synopsis for the upcoming season was released, which teases what to expect.

“The triangle of Stefan, Caroline and Alaric will team up with Bonnie in Season 8 to search for the two most important men in her life,” Melty wrote regarding the synopsis for Season 8 of TVD, “even though Damon and Enzo may be long past saving.”

The wording of the synopsis for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 is interesting. Notice how it said Stefan, Caroline and Alaric would be joining Bonnie. Perhaps this is a clue that Bonnie will search for Damon and Enzo on her own? At least until her three friends stop her from making a huge mistake?

MoviePilot speculated some different ways Nina Dobrev could come back to The Vampire Diaries. One of those included Damon killing Bonnie and Elena waking up. That is a legitimate theory, and one that could happen.

When The Vampire Diaries returns, Damon and Enzo will be taking over 60 people and killing them. Their bodies were seen hanging in a warehouse, and the vampires were out to kill some more.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kat Graham announced her plans to leave TVD after the Season 8 finale. With Damon Salvatore also leaving The Vampire Diaries, the show is going to be left with very few cast members. There was a rumor that TVD Season 8 would be the last. However, The CW president hinted that decision has not yet been made, as previously reported by the Inquisitr.
