iPhone 5: Apple Reportedly Redesigning Iconic Headphones For Next-Generation iPhone
There’s been no shortage of rumors, speculation, and purported images of the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 5 (or whatever Apple ends up calling it) over the past several months, but all of the talk is set to be put to rest next week when Apple is expected to make the big announcement.
Ahead of the iPhone 5 announcement, Vietnamese website Tinhte posted an image and a video purportedly of the iPhone 5’s earbuds/headphones, which look to be redesigned for the first time in six years. As The Vergepoints out, Tinhte has a relatively solid track record of getting a hold of technology early, so this appears to be legit.
The site speculates that the new iPhone 5 headpones will likely be bundled with the phone, suggesting that the new design will be the standard for Apple’s next-generation iPhone. Apple hasn’t even confirmed the existence of the phone, much less what sort of earbuds will be included, so we’ll have to wait and see to be sure.
Here’s a translation of the video commentary, courtesy of Mac Rumors:
“They have the appearance of a horse’s head, not like earbuds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit – there’s no part that looks like it would come apart – not like earbuds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products.”
“All factors such as design, quality finishing materials fabricated wire, plastic body headphones are led to the conclusion this is genuine and not counterfeit headphones.”
What do you think of the look of Apple’s new headphones for the iPhone 5?
