‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Star Dakota Johnson Splits With Matthew Hitt Over Racy Scenes With Jamie Dornan?

Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt have reportedly parted ways after two years of dating. Was their split a result of her role in the erotic thriller, Fifty Shades Darker?

According to the Daily Mail, the couple has dated on and off over the past couple of years. Back in 2015, the two reportedly broke up after the release of Fifty Shades of Grey, though they later got back together.

“Dakota and Matthew have dated on-and-off for the past two years,” an insider revealed to Just Jared. “They didn’t get a chance to see much of each other recently because their work schedules didn’t align. She’s been up in Vancouver shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy.”

Matthew is a musician and singer for the Drowners, an indie rock band.

Movie News Guide reports that Johnson was recently spotted in Vancouver during a scene with co-stars Jamie Dornan and Rita Ora. The movie is expected to finish production in the coming weeks.

The timing of Johnson’s breakup and her work on Fifty Shades Darker has left some wondering if her relationship with Hitt ended because of the erotic film. After all, rumors about Johnson and Dornan sparking a romance off-set have surfaced in previous months.

According to Game N Guide, things have become so heated between the co-stars that Dornan is planning on breaking up with his wife, Amelia Warner. Dornan and Johnson’s close friendship on-set only fueled rumors more.

As fans will recall, Johnson recently surprised Dornan during his birthday. The actress filled his trailer with balloons in an effort to wish him a happy birthday.

Of course, Dornan has denied any sort of romance with Johnson outside of work. Instead, he has been adamant that he only has eyes for Warner and is a happily married family man.

In fact, while filming for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed starts to wrap up, Warner has temporarily relocated to Vancouver in order to be with her husband.

Speaking of Warner, rumors have also surfaced that hint she might be a little jealous with all the sex scenes between Dornan and Johnson. Not only is there a strong possibility that Warner disapproves of Dornan’s part in the franchise, but there is a good chance that she moved to Vancouver in order to keep tabs on her man.

That being said, all outside appearances indicate that Dornan is more than happy with his marriage. Along with his love for Warner, Dornan recently welcomed his second child into the world, lending more credence to the notion that all is well with the Dornan family.

As far as Johnson is concerned, she has stuck by her story that her busy schedule and blossoming movie career are the only reasons why her relationship with Hitt ended so quickly. For now, Johnson has remained silent about any extracurricular activities with Dornan.

Until more information on the matter is revealed, it does not appear as though Johnson’s intimacy with Dornan in front of the camera led to her split with Hitt.

Apart from Johnson’s role in Fifty Shades Darker, fans can watch her in A Bigger Splash. Johnson stars alongside Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes in the new film.

For his part, Hitt is plenty busy with his ongoing music career. The guitarist and singer is currently on tour with his rock band and has stops throughout this summer.

Fans can watch Dornan and Johnson reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele when Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters on February 10, 2017. The last film in the trilogy, Fifty Shades Freed, is scheduled to premiere a year later.
