Christina Grimmie Hoped To Work With Justin Bieber, One Direction, & Ariana Grande Before Tragic Murder
Murdered Christina Grimmie spoke about her aspirations to work with One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande shortly before her tragic death.
In what’s believed to be one of Christina’s final interviews before she was shot dead by Kevin James Loibl during a meet-and-greet following a concert on June 11, Grimmie opened up about her hopes for the future, which included heading out on tour with some of music’s biggest names and releasing a full-length album.
In an interview published by Pop Crush on June 7, just four days prior to Christina’s murder, Grimmie spoke about her big aspirations to hit the road again, as well as revealing her plans to release new music later this year.

When quizzed about her dream tour mates, Grimmie told the site that she hoped to work with “someone like Ariana [Grande] or maybe One Direction” before gushing over Justin Bieber, who she’s thought to have met through her friendship with Bieber’s former girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
“Even [Justin] Bieber. I’d love to open for Bieber it would be awesome,” Christina said in the interview, “that would definitely be the crowd I would want to play to.”
Tragically, Christina will now never be given the opportunity to team up with Ariana, One Direction, or Justin, who publicly supported Grimmie during her 2014 stint on NBC’s The Voice.
“Just got the call from the big bro @adamlevine. I got u man,” Justin tweeted out at the time. “I started on YouTube and so did @TheRealGrimmie so…”
Although Bieber has not officially spoken out about Christina’s death, Ariana took to the social media site to pay tribute Grimmie last week, where Grande described the horrific incident as being a “f****** tragedy.”
“Rest in peace, sweet spirit @TheRealGrimmie. what a f****** tragedy,” Ariana Grande tweeted out on June 11. “What a sad state this world is in. My heart is with her loved ones.”
Christina Grimmie also tragically spoke to Pop Crush about her plans for the future in the interview, where she revealed that she planned to release new music in the coming months.
Grimmie admitted that she had “so much awesome new music” set for release, adding to the site that she had “so much stuff coming up.”
“I want to get a full length album out this year,” Christina continued of her new music in what would turn out to be one of her final interviews. “I definitely want to do that because there’s so much great music being made right now.”
Christina also heartbreakingly confessed to the site that she hoped to head out on another tour at the end of 2016.
“I’m going to be writing for the next couple of months. I do want to go on another tour, maybe by the end of this year – if I do get an album out this year,” Grimmie said. “If I don’t get an album out this year, crossing my fingers I hope I will, then I would just love to tour that album.”
It’s not yet clear if Grimmie’s family will opt to release any new music posthumously. The motive for Grimmie’s murder is still being investigated, though E! News is reporting that Christina “never talked” about being concerned for her safety while meeting with fans.
“Christina never talked about security concerns at all,” Grimmie’s friend, Ashly Nicole, told the site, admitting that “there didn’t seem to be any warning signs at all” that Christina may have feared her life was in danger.
In the same interview, Nicole also opened up about Grimmie’s close relationship with her fans.
“She would call them her ‘frands,’ friends and fans combined and all her fans kind of knew each other,” Ashly told E! News, revealing that Christina Grimmie “would regularly engage with her fans. She was so generous.”
