‘The 100’ Season 4: Will Clarke Find A New Love? Eliza Taylor Talks About Life After Lexa [Spoilers]
The 100 fans were not happy with show creator Jason Rothenberg after Lexa’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) death in Season 3. The actress did return for the season finale in a very big and important way. However, Lexa is still dead, and Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is alone and grieving. Some fans have wondered if Clarke will ever find love again. The actress spoke about this issue and shared her thoughts about “Clexa” and life after Lexa.
Warning: Possible spoilers for The 100 Season 4 are ahead. You have been warned.
When Lexa died in The 100, it was a devastating moment for Clarke Griffin, fans of the show, and “Clexa” shippers. Some viewers discussed if Clarke will ever find love again, and this was also asked at Comic-Con. Eliza Taylor responded to the question and admitted that she isn’t sure if Clarke can love anyone else.
“I don’t know,” Taylor said at Comic-Con, according to Enstars. “I don’t know if that is a possibility for her given what she’s just been through. I hope it is, but, in honor of Lexa, I think it would be hard for fans to see.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Eliza Taylor said a few months ago that she hoped Clarke wouldn’t jump into another relationship. What “Clexa” had was special, and it was a real love. With Lexa dead, Clarke needs time to grieve, process everything, and heal. Even though it has been some time since Lexa died in The 100, Clarke hasn’t exactly had the opportunity to grieve Lexa properly because of the Alie (Erica Cerra) situation.
Creator Jason Rothenberg said after Lexa’s death that there was a bigger purpose. He promised that fans would understand why Lexa had to die and how it tied into the bigger story. After the fan backlash, though, Rothenberg and the writers admitted they mishandled the situation.
“I think it was a failure to recognize the cultural impact that this would have outside the context of the show,” Javier Grillo-Marxuach said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “The systemic failure to recognize it as an event of the magnitude that it would have … is the real subject of discussion. Perhaps if we knew, why did we still go through with it? Why did it not register with us? I think that’s a bigger issue.”

There were other ways they could have written Debnam-Carey off of the show (Alycia left The 100 because of her commitment to Fear The Walking Dead). However, as Carter Matt wrote, you can’t change the past, only learn from it.
There are some fans of The 100 who ship Bellamy and Clarke, aka “Bellarke.” Some wondered if they would get together in Season 4, but that doesn’t seem likely. It is going to be too soon after Lexa’s death. Losing the woman she loved had a deep impact on Clarke. Hopping into bed with someone else is just something that doesn’t seem possible when The 100 Season 4 premieres. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, but she needs to not be intimate for anyone for a while. Besides, sleeping with Clarke is almost a guarantee that they will die, based on her track record.
What do you think of what Eliza Taylor had to say at Comic-Con regarding “Clexa?” Do you think Clarke will ever find love again? Or was losing Lexa too much for the heroine of the post-apocalyptic series? What does the future hold for Clarke and the rest of the characters moving forward?
The 100 Season 4 does not yet have a premiere date. However, the writers are working on the story right now and The CW will reportedly air new episodes sometime in early 2017.
