A Preview Of Discovery Channel’s Anticipated ‘Shark Week’ Return For June 26
Discovery Channel’s Shark Week premieres Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 8/7 C providing viewers with ocean themed shows centering around sharks. Over the years, Discovery Channel’s Shark Week has become an exciting event for millions of viewers. On June 19 at 10/9 C, an hour-long “Sharktactular” will be hosted by Eli Roth.
On “Sharktactular,” viewers will be shown the greatest shark moments in Shark Week History, Viral Videos submitted by fans, and an exculsive sneak peek of the most jaw-dropping moments that will be featured on this year’s Shark Week! It is a countdown to get viewers pumped up about Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. Eli Roth will also host the “Shark After Dark” talk show.
Tom Golden created the annual, week-long series. Discovery Channel’s Shark Week highlights shark shows and began on July 17, 1988.
Throughout the years, Discovery Channel’s Shark Week kept gaining popularity, and in 2010, it has become the longest running cable series event in history. Not only is Discovery Channel’s Shark Week promoted heavily on the internet, it is also shown in 72 countries.On the show, “Tiger Beach” Dr. Neil Hammerschlag travels to a shallow area off the Bahamas called Tiger Beach. He is trying to find out why these sharks mate, where females gestate, and where they give birth. Return of the Monster Mako” is about three professional men utilizing technology to try to document the Mako Shark that have become so large they are known called “grander.” These Mako Sharks have grown into 10 feet long and weighing 10,000 pounds sharks. To see these elusive sea creatures, the men jump in the water at night and encounter these massive sharks.
Discovery Channel’s Shark Week’s “Isle of Jaws” was made possible by the remarkable find of award-winning shark cinematographer, Andy Casagrande. He discovered that they all migrated from the Neptune Island of Australia. He asked Marine Biologist Dr. Jonathan Werry to join his cause. The two men hope to find out where the great white sharks mate and where they have their baby great white sharks.
On this one show of Discovery Channel’s Shark week called Deadliest Shark, scientist use research and historical evidence to look for the rare oceanic white tip sharks. Dr. Micheal Domeier and Dr. Barry Bruce are on a mission to find this rare sharks. The Doctors are trying to see if this species should have the reputation as the “World’s Deadliest Shark.”These are just a summary of the few of the exciting shows that will by shown, during Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. The viewers have many more to get excited about because they are going to be fin-tastic!
