‘Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X HD’ And Controller Coming To PlayStation 4

Last March, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X already landed on the PlayStation Vita in Japan. People have been waiting for the PlayStation 4 version of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X to hit PS4 units in Japan and other parts of the world. By August 30, the whole world will witness the newest title of one of the most famous animated singing idols of this generation complete with a new mini controller.

Siliconera reports the news that game peripheral manufacturer Hori will be releasing the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X mini controller simultaneously with the release of the title for PlayStation 4 in Japan. This being said, it looks like for now, the mini controller for the Hatsune Miku title will only be available in Japan for 14,018 yen (approximately $139 USD)

The Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X mini controller first came out for the PlayStation 3 Hatsune Miku title. Because of its popularity, it looks like the makers are releasing a PlayStation 4 version, too. What’s great about the mini controller is that it allows the user to customize the buttons so they will be able to play more difficult song with ease.

The functioning buttons of the PlayStation 4 Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X mini controller are Circle, X, Square, Triangle, L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, R3, Share, Options, PS Button, Directional Keys, Left Analog Stick, Right Analog Stick, TouchPad, and TouchPad Button.

According to Amazon Japan, the PlayStation 4 Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X mini controller could now be pre-ordered for a discounted price of 12,735 yen. You can pre-order Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X for PlayStation 4 for 7,049 yen in addition to the mini controller. The English translation of the Amazon listing of the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X mini controller reads as follows.

“The mini controller in 45mm so that play is almost similar to that of an arcade. Choose the button arrangement of your choice since you can change the assignment of the button functions. Equipped with lights, vibration, microphone jack, motion sensor, and speaker.”

If you’re familiar with the PlayStation 3 version of this Hatsune Miku controller, then you’ll know very well that it’s exactly the same mini controller. It looks like Hori is just changing the USB compatibility and retaining everything else; many would be bummed if they already have one for their PlayStation 3 for the older Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. Who wants another one exactly like the older one sitting around the house? A lot of people have mixed feelings about the mini controller; think it over some more if you’re deciding on getting one.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X is the tenth installment in the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva franchise, hence its name. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X HD for PlayStation 4 will be a bump up from the prior Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X released for PlayStation Vita. It will be showcasing Miku in 1080p at 60 frames per second, 30 additional new songs, and support for PlayStation VR.
