Princess Charlotte Photos: 1-Year-Old Makes First Public Appearance At Queen’s Birthday Celebration
New Princess Charlotte photos have surfaced after the 1-year-old daughter of Kate Middleton and Prince William made her very first official public appearance at Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebration on June 11. According to Us Weekly, Princess Charlotte looked adorable and was all smiles at the event as she clung to her mom on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
“The 13-month-old tot looked adorable in a pale pink dress with a matching bow pinning back her hair as the whole family — including Prince Harry, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, the Duke of York and his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie — greeted the gathered crowds from the Buckingham Palace balcony.”
Princess Charlotte photos have been circulating the internet today with just about everyone curious to see the toddler and how much she has grown over the past year. Although the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released pictures of their children in recent months, seeing Charlotte attend her first royal engagement was big news all over the globe.
People are simply in love with this royal family and love seeing them together.
Charlotte’s mom, Kate Middleton, also looked lovely (per usual) at the event. The Duchess wore a long white coat by one of her favorite designers, Alexander McQueen. She also wore a statement hat by Philip Treacy. Kate wore her hair elegantly in a side-swept updo.
Princess Charlotte photos included shots of her big brother, Prince George, who has effortlessly perfected the little boy look. The handsome 2-year-old (who will be three next month) was dressed in an outfit worn by his dad, Prince William, when he was just a boy. As People Magazine points out, this isn’t the first time that the Duchess of Cambridge resurrected an outfit from her husband’s youth for their son to wear.
“[Kate] chose a 31-year-old outfit for Prince George to wear for Saturday’s big balcony appearance at Trooping the Colour – an outfit previously worn by her husband Prince William at the December 1984 christening of his then-baby brother Prince Harry. When George made his own balcony debut last year, he wore the same sky-blue romper suit that William had worn at his first balcony appearance. (It had also been worn by George’s grandfather, Prince Charles).”

The Duchess of Cambridge is obviously very into fashion, but she is also very aware and respectful of tradition. She seems to really love to recreate looks from her husband’s younger days and dresses her son similarly for a variety of reasons.
“Kate is an art historian and she likes making these set-piece statements. She really has looked back at [past royal] portraits and she is working off those,” said Ingrid Seward, author of A Century of Royal Children.
