President Obama Goes On ‘Tonight Show’ And Slow Jams The News [Video]
President Obama has officially went on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and slow jammed the news in a special night with the president and Jimmy Fallon. Not only did Obama slow jam the news with Fallon, but they also had a number of exchanges that showed Obama really has an impeccable sense of humor.
But perhaps the best part of Obama slow jamming the news on The Tonight Show was when he took a few jabs at GOP presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, as reported by Rolling Stone.
Needless to say, Obama was not able to deliver the news with his little twist ending that could in some way point the finger back at his strongest critics, which includes Trump.

Obama started of his portion of the slow jam on The Tonight Show by addressing his many accomplishments while in office.
“When I first took office, our nation was facing one of the worst recessions in its history,” Obama said on The Tonight Show slow jam. “Since then, we’ve added more than 14 million new jobs and lowered the unemployment rate to under five percent. Through the actions of my administration, we were able to stimulate the economy and get our country back on track.”
Of course The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon chimed in after Obama’s verse with, “Ahh yeah,” giving way to his own slow jam backed up by The Tonight Show band, Roots.
But whatever comedy Fallon was able to squeeze in, he was easily outdone by one simple line from Obama, where he said he has been binge watching his favorite TV show, “Orange is NOT the New Black.”
For those who were not able to catch that line on The Tonight Show, that was a direct insult to Donald Trump, who’s skin tone appears to be orange, presumably from over-tanning or spray-on tanning. The wise crack was to insinuate that Trump, who is orange, could not do Obama’s job, who is a black man.

But that was not all that Obama and Jimmy Fallon had fun with on The Tonight Show. They had their normal segments where the two would discuss various topics and put each other’s comical spin on the issues. Then The Tonight Show segued over to a segment were Jimmy Fallon asked President Obama if he wanted to write thank you letters now that his final term is winding down.
Obama was ready to go on The Tonight Show and he joined Fallon at his anchor desk. They both began their process of writing thank you letters to various “entities” with a slow jam from the band Roots.
In one of Obama’s thank you letters, he wrote that he wanted to thank his campaign slogan, “Yes we can,” or as he now likes to call it, “Yes we did.”
Of course The Tonight Show host also took his swipe at writing one of Obama’s thank you letters by thanking his birth certificate for authenticating his age as really being only 54, which drew a comical exchange between himself and Obama.
But what would any great segment on The Tonight Show be if President Obama did not make light of the Republican Party and make fun of their pick for a presidential nominee.
Fallon asked Obama what his thoughts were on the state of the GOP, which he tried his best to dance around before finally giving his funniest answer, even if by accident.
“We’re happy with our nominee,” Obama said. He then got a little more serious about the question. “What’s happened in that (Republican) party, culminating in this current nomination, is not something that’s good for the country as a whole, and not something that Republicans should wish for.”
There is a pretty good chance that fans of The Tonight Show will see Obama appear on it again sometime in the future.
