‘Teen Mom’ Kailyn Lowry And Javi Marroquin Were Separated For Months Before Divorce Was Announced

Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin have worked hard to deny reports of their split. That, however, changed when Lowry confirmed her divorce from Marroquin a few weeks ago.

With the Teen Mom 2 stars getting ready to part ways after four years of marriage, there were signs that hinted the two had been separated for months.

According to OK Magazine, the couple has been split up since at least December.

The first sign of trouble came when Lowry and Marroquin were seen multiple times without their wedding rings. At the time, they claimed that Lowry’s ring was too large to fit.

Following Marroquin’s departure overseas for deployment, an inside source revealed that Lowry wasn’t that sad about his absence.

“Kailyn misses him, but she’s not going crazy about it,” the insider stated.

Things only got worse from here.

While Marroquin was deployed, a photo cropped up of him posing with another woman. Lowry had met the mystery woman before and knew that she was one of Marroquin’s co-workers.

Another sign of trouble in paradise surfaced online. In the months leading up to their divorce announcement, both Teen Mom 2 stars posted numerous messages that alluded to marital problems.

Of course, the ultimate social media sign came when they unfollowed each other.

Shortly after the social media falling out, Marroquin revealed that he sent a picture of him in his underwear to another woman.

Although many fans suspected that Marroquin cheating was the final straw, the two had been separated since December. According to Radar Online, Marroquin’s interactions with other women came after the split.

Despite all of their problems over the years, their split is amicable.

“They’ve been separated since December, so if Javi was with anyone else overseas it wouldn’t really be cheating… The bottom line is they were two strong personalities who both want to be in control living together. They clashed.”

Meanwhile, Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin’s failing marriage did not come as a surprise to anyone that knew them. In fact, a source told Us Weekly that their marriage was headed for divorce for a long time.

“They’ve been unhealthy for a while, and Kail knew a divorce was inevitable,” the source stated. “There was always a disconnect.”

Lowry finally admitted to the divorce this past week, revealing that she and Marroquin still have the best interest of their kids in mind as they part ways.

“Yeah, it’s true,” Lowry shared. “We’re trying to do the best we can for our kids because they are what really matters.”

Lowry and Marroquin have one child together, Lincoln (2). She has another son Isaac (6), whom she had with her ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera.

Teen Mom 2 has documented Lowry and Marroquin’s marital struggles over the years. Most recently, the two went through a devastating miscarriage that led to long bouts of fighting.

While Lowry revealed that Marroquin’s desire to have children is the real reason why they chose to split, his deployment has proved much harder than either of them expected.

“It’s rough, it’s hard,” Lowry said in a recent episode. “[Deployment is] a lot harder on him than I thought it would be. He doesn’t feel supported… We lose things to talk about. His day-to-day is the same, we have been fighting. Right now I feel like is the time for me to focus on myself.”

Over the past few weeks, fans watched as Lowry and Marroquin continued to argue during his deployment. Coupled with everything the couple has gone through over the past year, the time spent apart was clearly the final straw that pushed them towards divorce.

The Season 7 finale of Teen Mom 2 premieres Monday night on MTV.
