Britain’s Loneliest Dog Lands Dream Role In ‘Transformers’ Movie, Freya Becomes A Star
One lonely pooch that has been stuck in shelters for most of her life is now going to be famous. Dubbed as Britain’s loneliest dog, Freya is about to become a movie star thanks to film director Michael Bay. She has been officially cast in the upcoming movie, Transformers: The Last Knight.
The dog was discovered by Bay as he happened upon this story about the loneliest dog in Britain being rejected by reportedly over 18,000 potential owners. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the well-known director decided to give the four-legged animal a new lease on life. Freya is about to rub elbows with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and become a celebrity herself.
Freya, who is a 6-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, has been living in an animal shelter since she was 6-months-old in Liverpool, England. She came into the Freshfields Animal Rescue as a stray, and thankfully this one is a no-kill shelter, or this story may not have had a happy ending.

It was reported by Metro UK that the dog had many visitors over the years, but no one has taken the steps to make her a part of their family. Sadly, this is a common thing among special needs animals like Freya that end up in shelters such as this one. This sweet canine has epilepsy, which probably played a big part in finding her a forever home.
Michael Bay, who is a dog lover himself, felt a twinge of sympathy for this lonely dog. He took to Twitter on June 2 to post the good news about his brand new Transformers cast member. Freya is making out good, and while she has found quite a bit of fame now, she will also be getting a new home one way or another.Britain’s loneliest dog is now making headlines and that means that she is getting some offers not only in the UK, but other pet owners from all over have already offered to give her a forever home. Freshfields Animal Rescue stated on their Facebook that they are thrilled that their new movie star is finally getting the attention she deserves.
“We have had a fantastic response to our appeal for a new home for Freya, with lots of interest shown from around the world as well as closer to home in the UK. We are thrilled at the opportunity of a movie deal for Freya and at such interest and support from a major film director who is also a dedicated animal advocate. We look forward to showing the world what a wonderful and special dog Freya is. Watch this space for further details!”
If nothing else pans out, then Michael Bay said that he will welcome her into his own home. He has two bullmastiffs named Grace and Bonecrusher who would love to have a sister to play with. Either way, this gorgeous pooch will have her happily ever after.

Freya even has her own Doggie Diaries on Facebook. She is now updating her new adventures in the movie business and it looks like she is loving every single moment of it.
“I’m sure some of you have already heard my new and exciting news but Michael Bay has asked me to be in the new Transformers 5 film! Of course I have said yes. I’m going to be a film star! The staff here say I’m enough of a diva already but I don’t mind the extra attention.”
Her new movie role has not yet been announced, but she is certain to keep everyone updated on how things are going with her new celebrity status. Britain’s loneliest dog is not so lonely anymore. Freya may just be Britain’s most famous dog now.
