Kelly Ripa New Co-Host: Andy Cohen ‘Live’ Rumors Increase After Supposed ‘WWHL’ Exit

Kelly Ripa’s new co-host for Live! still has not been chosen, but one of the guys in the running may be a little bit closer to being able to ink a deal. And that guy is Andy Cohen.

Cohen is supposedly one of Kelly Ripa’s top picks as co-host for the ABC morning talk show. The two are such great friends and have amazing chemistry together, making their twosome an ideal match for all parties involved. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, however, Cohen has said that he couldn’t sign on to do Live! full-time with Ripa because he is simply too busy with all of his other endeavors.

A new report from Page Six claims that Andy Cohen is soon going to be done with Watch What Happens Live! — the show being one of the main reasons he is super busy.

“Andy is over [Watch What Happens Live]. He’s been doing that show forever. He wants to do other things. Taping every night at 11 p.m. is cramping his style,” shared a source.

The rumors involve Cohen producing a new show that will have different celebrities sitting in his hosting seat and interviewing guests on a nightly basis. The reported “new” show is titled Look Who’s Hosting Live!

Kelly Ripa could have her (supposed) dream co-host sitting next to her each morning if this story has any truth to it. Page Six points out that this new show could be Andy Cohen’s way of still making money off of WWHL (as he would be the executive producer of the new show) while heading to co-host Live! with his BFF.

“TV execs say the new show is just a disguised way of trying out potential replacements, and once Cohen is replaced, he’ll be free to succeed Michael Strahan and join Kelly Ripa at Live with Kelly and…”

Both Kelly Ripa and Andy Cohen have been tight-lipped when it comes to the rumors. However, a Bravo spokesperson was quick to debunk any and all rumors that Cohen was leaving Watch What Happens Live!

“This is untrue. Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen as host is continuing on the network and [was] recently renewed for another season.”

Variety has confirmed that Andy Cohen is working on this new Look Who’s Hosting Live! and reports that the show will be a fun twist on the existing WWHL.

“Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Cohen turns the tables on celebrities who have envied his job and gives them the ultimate opportunity to host their own live late night talk show, for one night only. From writing monologues, to picking their sidekicks and guests, these hosts-for-a-night will get the chance to live out their fantasy and design their dream show.”

That said, a Kelly Ripa co-host announcement will have to wait a little while longer. Other celebs in the running include Rob Lowe, Jerry O’Connell, Anderson Cooper, Mario Lopez, and fan-favorite Fred Savage. Fans of the show are expecting an announcement before the show’s summer hiatus, and while this new Andy Cohen news has sprung up at just the right time, there hasn’t been any confirmation of the show’s producers being in talks with the Bravo-preneur.
