Russell Brand, Geri Halliwell Snapped In At-Home Date

Russell Brand, fairly recently split from Katy Perry, and former Spice Girl and single mom Geri Halliwell have been spotted stepping in together, lending more credence to the rumor the pair are an item.

Russell Brand has openly admitted to, like much of Britain and the free world in the late 90s, crushing on Geri Halliwell when she came to fame as the sexiest Spice Girl Ginger Spice.

And, by all accounts, Russell Brand and Geri Halliwell have been spending a lot of time together since the Get Him to the Greek star split with Isabella Brewster ahead of his work commitments for the Olympics.

At those same Olympics, Halliwell and her former bandmates reunited for an appearance, which seems to have sparked off the friendship between the two.

A pal of one or both of the famous pair has blabbed about the coupling to Us Weekly but insists the two are just friends and not actually dating right now. (And we submit that given Brand’s rep with the laydees, maybe not so much.)

The spy says:

“Russell and Geri are just friends and have been out a few times of late,” one insider tells Us Weekly. “A few media are prematurely reporting that they are in a serious relationship, [but it’s] a little early for all that type of speculation.”

For her part, Halliwell stoked rumors of a new boyfriend when she told British press recently:

“Right now there’s nothing serious. I was a late starter on the romantic front. I didn’t start dating until I was in my 30s … I quite like having somebody to cuddle. I like that intimacy, it would be wonderful.”

A second spy tells the mag that Brand and Halliwell are “testing the waters” and that it’s “very early days.”
