Gwen Stefani recently shot down rumors that Blake Shelton proposed to her by burying an engagement ring in a bucket of chicken, and she hinted that she would not say yes to such a greasy proposal. However, Gwen’s biggest issue with using breaded breasts and thighs to pop the question isn’t that the gesture lacks romance and is downright ludicrous. During a recent radio interview, Gwen revealed that there’s another reason why it would be a huge turnoff if Blake got down on bended knee with an 8-piece bucket of chicken from KFC.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, rumors about Blake Shelton using deep-fried poultry to propose to Gwen Stefani have already been debunked. However, during a June 3 Mix 104.1 interview, radio hosts Karson and Kennedy couldn’t resist asking Gwen to share her thoughts about the bizarre claim.
“Are you kidding me? Oh my God,” Gwen said when she was asked if she heard about the chicken proposal rumors. “The whole thing has gotten so out of control.”
Gwen Stefani explained why she would be somewhat offended if Blake stuck a massive pile of meat in front of her face and asked her to marry him.
“I actually don’t eat meat,” the singer revealed.
Last October, Radar Online reported that Gwen’s aversion to meat was a real turn-on for her close pal Moby .
“She’s been a vegetarian since she was 12 and in Moby’s eyes she’s the ultimate woman — talented, gorgeous and she hates meat!” a source revealed.
Unfortunately for Moby, Gwen Stefani was getting flirty with Blake Shelton around the same time the “We Are All Made of Stars” singer was trying to convince her that she should give a fellow meat hater a chance, and it turns out that eating meat isn’t a deal-breaker for Gwen; Blake definitely doesn’t share Gwen’s love of meat-free meals, and he’s actually an avid hunter who enjoys killing his own dinner.
“Sometimes I’ll go hunting for caribou in Canada, or elk hunting. But bowhunting white-tailed deer in Oklahoma is my favorite thing,” Blake revealed during his recent chat with Rolling Stone .
Gwen’s vegetarianism and animal activism was briefly addressed during the Rolling Stone interview when Blake was asked whether he would ever take Gwen hunting.
“I know you know better than that,” Blake responded. “I can just see her: ‘Get ’em!’ That makes me laugh.”
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s views on eating meat isn’t the only area where they differ; the pop star and the country crooner come from two completely different musical worlds. However, they proved that a country boy and a Cali girl can come together in perfect harmony by writing and recording their popular duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.”
During her Mix 104.1 interview, Gwen Stefani was asked whether she and Blake Shelton plan on performing “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” together during any of the stops on her upcoming tour. Gwen revealed that she wants to make this happen, but the duet performance is difficult to schedule because Blake is also hitting the road this summer.
“He better,” Gwen said when she was asked whether Blake would be joining her onstage at any of her concerts. “I’m so bad at looking at the dates and trying to coordinate. We have planned in our minds that we’re going to find each other.”
Gwen Stefani said that she plans on taking her three sons, 10-year-old Kingston, 7-year-old Zuma, and 2-year-old Apollo, on tour with her to keep her company, and the boys are excited about traveling across the country with their mother.
As Us Weekly reports, Gwen’s boys discovered one of the perks of their mother dating Blake when he invited them to last month’s premiere of the Angry Birds movie . Blake voices a green pig named Earl in the animated flick, and there’s one detail about the cartoon swine that Gwen really loves.
“My favorite part is that they did the tattoo,” Gwen revealed. “That is hilarious.”
However, during an interview with ABC News Radio , Blake revealed that there’s one big difference between his arm tattoo and the one Earl sports; Blake’s pays homage to the deer that he likes to hunt, and Earl’s is a tribute to the birds that he likes to harass.
“But the thing that sealed the deal for me was that they had put in my tattoo on this pig Earl on his arm, and they had taken the time to replace the deer tracks with actual bird tracks,” Blake said of his decision to voice the character.
Gwen Stefani can only hope that voicing a pig doesn’t give Blake Shelton the idea to propose to her by placing an engagement ring in a bouquet of bacon roses.
