World’s Shortest Man Meets World’s Shortest Woman
Who better to pose on the cover of the new Guinness World Records 2013 Edition than the world’s shortest man and the world’s shortest woman?
Jyoti Amge and Chandra Bahadur Dangi were brought together by the people at Guinness for an incredible photo shoot featuring two of the shortest people in the world.
Marco Frigatti, Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator, said:
“It was an extraordinary moment; they’re both such incredible individuals. Everyone knew this was a special moment, the atmosphere was magical.”
Dangi, a 72-year-old man from Nepalese who stands at just 21.5 inches, said:
“I’m very happy that I’m being recognized by Guinness World Records and that my name will be written in a book. It’s a big thing for my family, my village and my country. I am very happy.”
Jyoti, an 18-year-old woman from India, is slightly taller at 24.7 inches. According to Guinness, Jyoti is trying to turn her world record into a career in movies and modeling. She’s already starred in a number of Indian films, and, this Septermber, she’ll be traveling on a promotional tour for the Guinness Book Of World Records 2013 Edition.
Jyoti said:
“Since being recognized by Guinness World Records I have been able to visit lots of different countries. I love travelling. I have visited Japan and parts of Europe and now I can’t wait to visit the UK.”

The Guinness Book of World Records was first published in 1955 and has sold over 120 million copies in over 100 countries around the world. The new Guinness World Records 2013 Edition available worldwide on Thursday, September 13.
