Tamar Braxton Lands Own Talk Show Following ‘The Real’ Firing, Opens Up About ‘Heartbreaking’ Departure
Tamar Braxton is saying bye bye to The Real and hello to her own talk show.
Steve Harvey announced the big news during Tamar’s appearance on The Steve Harvey Morning Show on June 2, where Harvey confirmed that he’s signed Tamar to his company to create her own talk show following her shocking firing from The Real last month.
“We are proud to announce that 112th Street Productions … in conjunction with Endemol Shine North America,” Steve Harvey admitted on the radio show according to The Jasmine Brand, “has just signed Tamar Braxton to produce a talk show, a TV series.”
The news came amid Tamar’s appearance on the radio show, where Braxton got seriously candid about the drama and the sordid details that surrounded her being fired from the daytime talk show last month.
“In this situation, you have to be positive and push yourself to move forward,” Tamar said on the Steve Harvey radio show on June 2, admitting that she thinks her “future is brighter than ever” following her departure from the daytime talk show.Tamar also spoke out about how her reaction to her firing was captured on the June 2 episode of Braxton Family Values, titled “S*** Gets Real,” where Braxton confirmed that the scene in which she breaks down in tears over the news was filmed “about two hours” after she found out that she would not be returning for a third season of The Real.
Adding that she was “open and honest” about her feelings as she broke down in front of the camera after her husband, Vince Herbert, told her of the surprising information, Tamar confirmed that her The Real departure was both “devastating” and “heart-breaking” for her.
“I got my heart broke,” Tamar told Steve Harvey in the interview of her The Real firing, “it just wasn’t by a man.”
Braxton then admitted in the new interview that she has still been given no explanation as to why she was being let go from the daytime series, revealing that being given no reason is “bothering her to this day.”Tamar Braxton previously announced that she had some big news to share on Steve’s show in an Instagram post on June 1, which came just hours after Tamar appeared to put her former The Real co-stars on serious blast by commenting “pretty much” on a fan’s Instagram post that referred to Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Adrienne Bailon as “phony b******.”
“Happy. Positive. And not an ill will toward ANYONE or ANYTHING,” Tamar captioned a selfie on the social media site. “Check me out on @iamsteveharveytv morning show tomorrow and hear why I have so much JOY! God is in control… And he has prepared me for what’s to come.”
Tamar Braxton then confirmed that her apparent co-star star slam was “just jokes,” telling fans, “I may joke or shade but know in order for him to use me my HEART is pure and FULL of LOVE! Walk into your light and destiny. I love u all.”
The Real previously issued a statement regarding Tamar Braxton’s departure from the series, where they claimed that Tamar was actually leaving the show to focus on her music career.
“The Real and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season,” a statement issued to Entertainment Tonight in May read, claiming that Braxton “will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career.”
