Maddie Ziegler’s debut film, The Book of Henry , is expected to hit theaters this September. Fans of Dance Moms may recall that the 13-year-old had to miss a couple of rehearsals due to filming, which led to a few misunderstandings between her mom, Melissa Gisoni, and ALDC coach Abby Lee Miller. A new report suggests that former co-star JoJo Siwa may just end up following her footsteps after the ALDC coach threw some not-so-subtle shade her way.
Rumors of sisters Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler leaving Dance Moms started early 2015. It was, however, only last April that the news was confirmed. Abby Lee Miller herself admitted that Maddie had made the right decision to move on from the reality series. She, however, hoped that Mackenzie could have stayed a little bit longer. The ALDC coach shared that she saw a lot of potential in Maddie’s younger sister and thought she could really make a name for herself.
“We would have seen her really improve this season. You know, sometimes you get stuck doing what your older sister is doing.”
Maddie Ziegler has been on a roll since leaving the Lifetime series. Apart from starring in The Book of Henry, alongside several A-list celebrities, she is also the youngest judge on So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation . She will also be collaborating once again with Sia in the movie, Sisters .
Coming from the success of the 2015 blockbuster movie Jurassic World, people have high expectations for Colin Trevorrow. According to Box Office Mojo , the film raked in over $1.67 billion in worldwide box office. While many are excited to see The Book of Henry , the film will be up against some serious competition including The Edge of Seventeen and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

In other news, it seems like another ALDC member will be leaving Dance Moms soon. Abby Lee Miller recently posted a photo of Kalani Hilliker, Nia Frazier, Kendall Vertes, Brynn Rumfallo, and Gianna Martello taken at the recent Fierce National Dance Competition in Calabasas, California. While it may seem like just any other competition photo, it was Miller’s caption that drew much attention.
Many speculated that the ALDC coach was throwing shade at JoJo Siwa, who posted photos and videos of herself having fun at the pool and enjoying the Memorial Day weekend. Fans of JoJo immediately came to her defense and called Abby “savage.” They added that the young dancer was just taking a much-deserved break and there was no need for drama.
According to International Business Times , Jojo, along with her mom Jessalyn Siwa, walked out of the weekly pyramid session after Abby Lee Miller gave JoJo a part in the contemporary ballet duet. Kalani Hilliker ended up taking her place, alongside Kendall Vertes. In spite of the mix up, Kalani and Kendall’s routine, titled “Push and Pull,” won first place in the teen division and first place overall in last weekend’s competition.
The ALDC team will be competing next at the Sheer Talent in Spokane Washington on June 4. Will JoJo Siwa show up this time around?
With Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler gone, the outlet predicted that there will be a lot of changes when Dance Moms Season 6 returns.
“It has been revealed that the coach will team up her elite junior and mini team dancers for a few numbers, as well as add some male dancers to her older group.”
