Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris Reportedly Split: Stars Stay Silent On Social Media
Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris reportedly split after 15 months of dating. The couple has decided to go their separate ways after they realized that their relationship is not working out as they hoped.
An insider confirmed to People on Wednesday, June 1, that Taylor Swift, 26, and Calvin Harris, 32, have decided to end things. The source claims there is no bad blood between the chart-topping pop star and music producer.
“There was no drama. Things just don’t work out sometimes,” claims the insider.
Another source confirmed the shocking news to Us Weekly, saying, “It just wasn’t working anymore. She’s OK.”
A third source revealed to E! Online that the couple had actually broken up last week, shortly after Calvin’s accident. Though there is no obvious drama between them, Taylor is obviously upset over their split, which probably explains why she’s been so quiet on social media lately. Additionally, Calvin and Taylor broke things off quietly and maturely without any big brawls. However, the couple has been in close contact with each other since the split.
“This all happened last week. Taylor and Adam had no big blowout fight, but the romance just was not there anymore for them. Adam is the one that ended it. It was all done in a very mature fashion. Taylor is pretty upset but they are still in communication. Taylor was there for Adam with his accident and supportive.”
Swift and Harris just celebrated their one-year anniversary back in March. Both artists took to their social media accounts to mark the occasion. Swift shared a photo of the locket that Harris gave her, while he took to Snapchat to show off the cake that he made her.

Then the pair celebrated their anniversary by going on a beach getaway on an unknown location. Both Taylor and Calvin updated their Instagram accounts with various photos from their romantic trip. The couple seemed really happy and in love at the time. That was also the time that rumors were swirling about Calvin planning to propose, while Taylor was planning their “secret wedding” come August.
It’s obvious that both of the stars have been through their share of stress. Swift has been the center of death threats on Twitter while Harris survived a scary car accident. The DJ was the passenger in a Cadillac SUV that was struck by a Volkswagen Beetle driven by a 16-year-old female driver. Harris only suffered a laceration on his nose and was taken to a nearby hospital and later admitted to intensive hospice care.
Reports claimed that Taylor Swift was the first one that Calvin Harris spoke to shortly after the accident. The pair were also seen hugging days after the wreck. Then Hollywood Life reported that Swift was taking good care of Harris and making sure that he rests up before performing again. Swift even left Instagram and Tumblr behind to dote on her boyfriend. It seemed the couple was deeply devoted to each other.
“He only had the cut on his face. But he wanted to make sure he was all right before he went to work again. She’s nursing him back to health. All Taylor wants is to be there for him.”
The “This is What You Came For” hit maker has since surfaced from his scary ordeal. Calvin took to Instagram to post a shirtless photo of himself, which has now been removed. In addition, he also took to Snapchat to share his first selfies since the crash.
The Daily Mail claimed that Calvin Harris looked a little sad when he was spotted in Los Angeles on Tuesday shortly after his trip to London, which explains his colorful Snapchat photos. Calvin was seen wearing the same gray T-shirt that he had on in one of his selfies, which he paired with black track pants and black Adidas sneakers.
It’s unclear what happened in Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ relationship. In her May 2016 cover story with Vogue, she gushed about their wonderful relationship.
“I’m in a magical relationship right now. It’s a really healthy, happy relationship,” she simply told the publication.
Neither Swift nor Harris have confirmed nor denied the split reports just yet. It’s unlikely that they will too since they were pretty private during their relationship. Tayvin fans are probably devastated over the news and are now hoping that the couple will work out whatever issues they have. Meanwhile, Swift’s other fans are now looking forward to her new breakup album.
Swift and Harris were reportedly Forbes‘ highest-paid celebrity couple in 2015. If they did happen to split, then Beyoncé and Jay Z will take their rightful place again, even though that couple has been plagued with their own split rumors. Now Swift will have to settle for Forbes‘ newest title of being one of the richest self-made women in America.
