‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Jen Lilley Quits Show, Will Theresa Die?

It seems that Days of Our Lives fans are losing another beloved character. Actress Jen Lilley is reportedly leaving the NBC soap as Theresa Donovan after three years.

According to TV Line, Jen Lilley has decided to step away from Days of Our Lives, and fans are wondering why she’s leaving, and if the character of Theresa will be recast.

Viewers are hoping for a recast, because the alternative is either losing the character because she leaves town, or because she dies.

Days of Our Lives fans have lost so many major characters over the past two years, and many of them have died. Since 2014, the characters of Sami Brady, EJ DiMera, Kristen DiMera, Eric Brady, Daniel Jonas, Paige Larsen, Serena Mason, Will Horton, and Bo Brady have all left the show, many through death.

In addition, actress Kate Mansi, another fan favorite, has announced she’s leaving DOOL as well, and her final air date is rapidly approaching. While it is rumored that Mansi will be recast, nothing has been said about Jen Lilley’s character, Theresa.

Soap Hub reports that Theresa’s parents, Kim and Shane, are possibly set to make their return to Salem, and that could spell out big trouble. Will Days of Our Lives actually kill another key character in Theresa Donovan? How else would they explain why Theresa is leaving her son, Tate, and fiancé, Brady Black, behind?

GameNGuide has revealed that there have been hints pointing to Jen Lilley’s departure from Days of Our Lives for months now.

“There have been hints that Jen Lilley was leaving the show soon. There was a blind item released, indicating that an actress involved in a popular pairing would soon exit. Next, there was a noticeable reduction in Lilley’s photos on set. Her photos shown in social media were usually from an older time. Furthermore, Lilley did not share as frequently as her coworkers that she was at work.”

Rumors are flying that Theresa will suffer some terrible illness that will be her undoing. This would be unfortunate, as Days of Our Lives fans love the character of Theresa, as well as her pairing with Brady Black.

However, if Theresa were to die, it would make for a very interesting storyline for Brady. Brady and Theresa will likely get married before the rumored death happens. After Theresa’s death, Brady would be forced to raise his son, Tate, as a single father, much like his own father, John Black, did with him when Brady’s mother, Isabella, died.

Will history repeat itself on Days of Our Lives for the Black family? No matter what happens, there is one thing that is certain. The DOOL cast looks very different than it did just two years ago. Some of the most popular characters in the show’s history are gone, and others, such as Steve Johnson, are back.

Viewers can’t help but wonder if their beloved soap may be losing steam after 50 years on air, and if the show could be closing in on the end of its life.

While Jen Lilley has yet to officially comment on her departure from Days of Our Lives, it seems the news is likely true, and fans have already begun to send her well wishes on her social media accounts.

On Monday, Lilley tweeted a heartfelt message about her loyal fans.

“I’m constantly in awe of how absolutely amazing and devoted my fans are. You all melt my heart and inspire me!!!”
