McDonald’s Allegedly Discriminates Against Their Blind Patrons At The Drive-Thru
The latest mess that the fast food conglomerate, McDonald’s, has gotten themselves involved in may finally prove to be a difficult matter for them to try and get out of scot-free. This time, it isn’t because of their lesser quality food or dining area cleanliness; this time, it is much bigger than anything else they’ve dealt with. This has to do with a profiled version of discrimination and it is done among a very sensitive category in North America; they’re attacking the blind members of our society.
According to NBC McDonald’s executives have until June 17 to reply to a federally-based lawsuit to defend themselves against the discrimination suit brought against McDonald’s.
Apparently, McDonald’s cannot offer their services to customers that walk up to the drive-thru window. Ironically, though, the lobby of McDonald’s is closed at a certain point at night, and the blind customers that wish to enjoy food from McDonald’s cannot easily access the food, thus bringing forth such a lawsuit with the base being the fact they are discriminating against their blind customers, since an alternative isn’t being forged by McDonald’s executives for those particular customers.
The lawsuit against McDonald’s is also backing itself up by saying that McDonald’s has the means to forge a proper access point for the disabled customers, such as blind patrons. With the sophistication and advanced technology of McDonald’s, it shouldn’t be very hard to whip up an idea. This ideology follows the expansion of McDonald’s menu to include breakfast all day long.

The lawsuit against McDonald’s also displays its desire for a trial by jury as it demands its “modest accommodations.” Without a doubt trying to carom off of the sympathy from the jurors, against a large company such as McDonald’s.
With the mentality of thinking that if someone is refused service at McDonald’s you can always go on to the next establishment, but keep in mind that as American citizens, if a person desires to eat at a McDonald’s then they should have the right to do so, regardless if they are blind or not.
This is America, a country where its citizens shouldn’t be subjected to the discrimination of being blind or not. This is the fight that the lawsuit wants to bring with it against McDonald’s.
McDonald’s headquarters located in Illinois had no comment to make as they said it was due to McDonald’s company policy to not comment during litigations.

McDonald’s is no stranger to having themselves in the news; however, this isn’t a fake story, unlike the one covered previously on the Inquisitr, having to do with a little toddler finding a finger in his happy meal, which was entirely false, luckily for McDonald’s.
But McDonald’s still doesn’t get the best rapport when it comes to being in the media. It attracts a unique element, such as the story covered by CBS about the elderly lady mishandling her bagged meal, dropping it on the pavement while at the drive-thru. She opened her door and fell out of her car, and her car ran her over.
According to Forbes even, McDonald’s employees have a slight disregard for the company as they stated a top grouping of keywords for McDonald’s based solely on the feelings of its employees; poor wages and horrific management, which both go hand in hand. Low pay means lesser trained managers, and that could be the entire problem that they are facing. A proper manager at that McDonald’s would have found a way to serve its blind clientele.
Feel free to comment below with your thoughts on whether or not you think this is a real or fraudulent case against McDonald’s.
