Matt LeBlanc will star in a new CBS comedy series titled Man With a Plan, and it sure looks like it could be a good project, according to Deadline. The 48-year-old Top Gear host will play a contractor who struggles to raise his kids when his wife is forced to go back to work as a medical lab technician.
Man With a Plan starring Matt LeBlanc is written by Jeff & Jackie Filgos, while James Burrows is set to direct the pilot. James Burrows and LeBlanc previously worked together on NBC’s hit comedy sitcom Friends.

Such actors and actresses as Matt Cook, Jessica Chaffin, Grace Kaufman, Matthew McCann, and Hala Finley are set to star alongside Matt LeBlanc. The new CBS comedy will be produced by CBS TV Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment, while LeBlanc is also set to co-executive produce the series with Michael Rotenberg and Troy Zien.
In his recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Matt LeBlanc teased about the new Top Gear, which debuted in the U.K. on May 29 and on BBC America on May 30. In fact, the former Friends star is the first American to host Top Gear.
And being an American in the U.K. still feels wrong for Matt LeBlanc when driving cars in the European country, since they are right-hand-drive cars. LeBlanc co-hosts the show, which has a global audience of 350 million viewers, alongside BBC presenter Chris Evans.

Matt LeBlanc and Evans were picked as Top Gear presenters since the BBC fired Jeremy Clarkson after he punched the show’s producer Oisin Tymon. But LeBlanc says post-Clarkson Top Gear will be much better as there will be more motorcycles, humor, and celebrities. And apparently LeBlanc has done everything he could to make the show as funny as possible.
“I think my job has been to bring more comedy to it overall. I’ve been pitching jokes in the car and trying to make it funnier whenever I can.”
When asked by the Wall Street Journal why he loves driving so much, Matt LeBlanc responded that it’s the feeling of freedom and independence as well as the ability to master his own destiny.
Matt LeBlanc also revealed that he has a gear mind since he loves the technology of cars and everything that has to do with engines. When asked to recall if he had done anything “stupid” in cars in his teenage years, LeBlanc said the list of those stupid things is way too long to even begin.

Matt LeBlanc also noted that the culture of a personal relationship with the automobile is changing with Uber cars, hybrids and other new technology. The former Friends actor said no matter what age you are, there is always this feeling of anticipation to getting to a certain destination. And Top Gear, according to LeBlanc, lets the viewers experience that feeling as well.
In fact, Matt LeBlanc admitted that he finds it more difficult to drive in the U.K. compared to the United States. He noted that everything is “a little wider” and “a little bigger” in the U.S., while there is less margin for error in the U.K.
“You know, if you go offline, you’re going to hit that thousand-year-old church. Don’t do that. We don’t really have that in the States.”
When asked about his favorite stretch of road in the world, Matt LeBlanc responded that he really likes the California coast as well as the Pacific Northwest. In fact, it could be anywhere from Morro Bay and all the way up to San Francisco.
