Louis Tomlinson Following Harry Styles To Hollywood: Louis Gets Cast In A Movie

Louis Tomlinson is set to follow in Harry Styles’ footsteps by starring in movie. If One Direction doesn’t ever get back together, there’s hope that the former BFFs will eventually be forced to interact with one another; perhaps, someday fans will get to see an awkward photo of Harry and Louis bumping into each other on the red carpet of a Hollywood event.

Louis Tomlinson is reportedly starring in a biopic based on the life of professional footballer Jamie Vardy. According to Hello! magazine, the Leicester City and England striker invited Louis to his May 25 wedding in Cheshire, so it would seem the 29-year-old sports star and the 24-year-old One Direction singer share a close bond. This could help Louis when it comes time to start researching his character.

At the wedding, Louis Tomlinson talked about how excited he was to be cast as Jamie Vardy in a movie based on his Premiere League success story.

“It’s a golden opportunity. Jamie’s story is incredible – he’s incredible,” Louis said. “For a football fan, any kind of involvement in a story like Jamie’s is exciting.”

Louis Tomlinson may be a good choice to play a footballer because he has experience with the sport; as the Guardian reported, he signed with the Doncaster Rovers as a non-contract player in 2013. Louis has also done a little acting, according to the Mirror. His acting classes at Barnsley helped him score a very small role as a boy whose friend discovers a dead body in the 2002 TV movie If I Had You.

Louis is currently dating The Originals star Danielle Campbell, who accompanied him to Jamie Vardy’s wedding. Danielle could offer her boyfriend a few acting tips, and who knows? Perhaps she could work on her British accent and get cast as Jamie’s bride, Rebekah Nicholson.

Louis Tomlinson might also want to talk to Harry Styles, who is already making the transition from boy band singer to Hollywood star. Harry is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s World War II action-thriller, Dunkirk, and he’s discovering that he’s going to have to work very hard to prove that he deserves his role as a soldier. As the Mirror reports, the Dunkirk casting director is already doing damage control by defending Harry Styles’ presence in the film.

“It wasn’t because he’s a well known pop star – if anything that was more of a detriment, because it could bring the wrong message and we don’t want people pulled out of the film because of who they are,” John Papsidera said.

“Our aim was to have people who are fresh and don’t bring a lot of prior work with them, so the audience will be really immersed in the film and not struggling with recognizable famous personalities. So Harry really had to overcome hurdles to get past that. He fought hard for it and his work was impressive and that’s what attracted us to him.”

Louis Tomlinson could face a similar challenge when he tries to morph into Jamie Vardy for his new movie.

Even though Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are both trying to pull a Justin Timberlake by making the move from music to movies, the boys might not be leaving One Direction behind for good. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Simon Cowell has said that he expects the boy band to get back together someday; he’s just not sure exactly when their reunion will happen.

Louis Tomlinson will soon reunite with at least one of his band mates, according to Digital Spy. He’s set to face off against Niall Horan at the Soccer Aid charity football tournament for UNICEF, which takes place on June 5. The boys are already at it with the trash talk with Niall proclaiming that he’s confident that his team, the “Rest of the World,” will best Louis and the rest of the England squad. Niall has observed that “the English boys have been a little bit quieter than they usually are,” but Louis Tomlinson has quickly broken this silence by firing back on social media.

Unfortunately, for Niall Horan, his pal decided to include an unflattering photo with his written Instagram insult.

Perhaps Niall will finally get to meet Louis’ son, Freddie Reign Tomlinson, at the Soccer Aid match. According to the Irish singer, he’s looking forward to seeing the little lad in the flesh someday.

“Loads of times we’ve been in the same place but conflicted… he’s doing this, I’m doing that,” Niall said of his attempts to arrange a meeting with Freddie. “I’m looking forward to meeting the little fella.”

Niall Horan might want to hurry and arrange that meeting before Louis Tomlinson’s schedule gets filled up with filming and Hollywood events.
