Jackie Chan Wears Rollerblade Suit In New Teaser For ‘Chinese Zodiac’
Jackie Chan wears what can only be described as a rollerblade suit in the teaser trailer for his latest death-defying adventure Chinese Zodiac, which is slated to hit theaters in Hong Kong this December. Sadly, a North American release date has not been set as of this writing. However, that shouldn’t prevent the latest trailer from impressing those individuals who spend a lot of time watching action cinema.
According to Collider, the forthcoming flick will serve as Chan’s last stunt-oriented endeavor. Although he isn’t going to give up action films entirely, this may be the last time we get to see the veteran action hero risk his life for the sake of entertainment. Given that Chan isn’t getting any younger, the shift in focus was inevitable. Still, if the previews for the film are any indication, Chinese Zodiac will certainly send Chan off with a bang.
Slash Film reports that Chan debuted the aforementioned outfit at this year’s Comic Con in San Diego. While the actor didn’t deliver any new footage from his latest cinematic endeavor, he did have one of his stuntmen give a demonstration of the rollerblade suit in action.
For those who aren’t overly familiar with Chan’s work, Chinese Zodiac is the third installment of his Armour of God series, which was released as Operation: Condor in the United States. The film, which essentially boils down to Indiana Jones with kung fu, follows the exploits of a well-traveled adventurer who is charged with finding twelve bronze sculpture heads based on the Chinese zodiac. Along the way, a number of elaborate, well-choreographed set pieces take place.
In 2011, Jackie Chan starred in his 100th movie, the Chinese drama 1911, a film which he also wrote and directed. On the domestic front, he reprised his role as Monkey in the DreamWorks movie Kung Fu Panda 2.
