Lily-Rose Depp Celebrates 17th Birthday, Gets Hounded By Paparazzi

Lily-Rose Depp was swarmed by paparazzi amid her father’s divorce to Amber Heard. The model arrived in Los Angeles a day ahead of her 17th birthday.

X17Online claims that Lily-Rose Depp looked “grumpy” as she wore a “scowl” on her face at LAX Airport, but with good reason. She was hounded by the paparazzi, which is a lot for a young girl to handle. Her father, Johnny Depp, has split from his wife of one year, Amber Heard. Additionally, the actor has been accused of domestic violence. Lily-Rose Depp was photographed looking somber on Thursday, May 26, just a day after the news broke about her father.

She maintained a low profile while walking through LAX. Lily-Rose was photographed wearing a red hooded sweatshirt pulled over her head with black sunglasses. She paired her look with a black crop top and matching leggings. Lily-Rose kept her arms folded over her chest and a serious expression on her face as she made her way through the airport. Lily-Rose’s body language obviously read that she didn’t want to be bothered at that moment, but that didn’t stop paparazzi from hounding the teen.

According to the videos below, both Lily-Rose Depp and Vanessa Paradis arrived in Los Angeles on separate flights on Thursday. They were both asked by paparazzi about Johnny Depp’s divorce from Amber.

According to reports, Lily-Rose Depp is in town to be by her father’s side. The Alice Through the Looking Glass star reportedly visited his daughter in Paris earlier this month for some quality father and daughter time. An insider told People that Depp may have warned his daughter about his upcoming split with Heard.

“I don’t think Johnny’s trip to Paris this month was a coincidence,” the source added.

While some reports claimed that Lily-Rose Depp has rushed to be by her father’s side, it’s likely that she will also remain close to Amber Heard throughout the divorce. Another insider told E! News that the two will “continue to have a relationship” despite Heard’s decision to divorce her father.

“Amber and Lily Rose developed a strong bond early on. Amber and Lily-Rose spent many days together without Johnny; going shopping, going out to eat, the movies. They had their ‘girl’ time. It was more of a ‘cool older sister’ than a mom figure for Lily-Rose and Amber was totally OK with that. It was a loving environment.”

According to the source, Heard was close to many people in Depp’s family, including his mother, who recently passed away.

“Amber was close with Betty Sue, they had a good relationship,” the source added.

Lily-Rose is going to need a loving environment and strong support system in light of this sad and heartbreaking news. But the model and actress has some good news of her own to share. Not only is she currently celebrating her 17th birthday this weekend, but she also has been announced as the new face of Chanel No. 5 L’Eau, according to WWD. Both the perfume and the advertising campaign, directed by Johan Renck, are ready to launch this fall. Lily-Rose has already been the face of Chanel’s couture show and the Pearl eyewear campaign, which was launched in September 2015.

She first made her mark in the fashion world by appearing inside the pages of Vanity Fair and Love magazine. Depp is currently the face of V Magazine’s digital issue and is a clear favorite of Karl Lagerfeld.

The actress also burned up the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, where she made some memorable red carpet moments in an off-shoulder gown and a hoodie with matching shorts. Depp will also appear in three new films: Planetarium, The Dancer, and Yoga Hosers, all set for release this year and next year.

There’s no doubt that Lily-Rose Depp is the one to watch in young Hollywood.
