‘Jurassic Park’ Comes To Netflix In June

Jurassic Park is coming to Netflix on June 1, 2016. Can you believe the classic dinosaur movie that moved us all as children is over 20 years-old? Everyone loves this movie, and the complete trilogy prior to the most recent Jurassic World will soon be at your command on Netflix.

What a great start to the summer months. Jurassic Park is one of those movies that just makes you feel like a kid again. Somehow, anytime you watch Jurassic Park you feel like you’re in your aunt’s living room with your cousins, or in your bedroom under the shelter of your Jurassic Park tent.

Jurassic Park serves as a memory bank rich with the imagination of your childhood. When you were a kid, the mechanical dinosaurs of the 90’s blockbuster was unlike anything seen before. The movie seemed to give you the idea that the DNA manipulations done at Jurassic Park were completely possible.

Jurassic Park appeals to everyone, and that is not an easy fete for a movie. In a single movie you get to experience theories of evolution, the science of DNA, some history about dinosaurs, and you are shown how the miracle of life “will always find a way.”

Nearly anyone over the age of 20 can recite the lines from their favorite Jurassic Park scene. “Hold on to your butts.” And, “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.” These are some of the most memorable moments in Jurassic Park, but a fan of the movie can go on and on.

Jurassic Park is filled with unusual sounds. In a report by Vulture, a sound designer from Jurassic Park gives some insight into how the dinosaur sounds were made.

“If people knew where the sounds in Jurassic Park came from, it’d be rated R.” said Gary Rydstrom, the sound designer for Jurassic Park. “It’s somewhat embarrassing, but when the raptors bark at each other to communicate, it’s a tortoise having sex.”

Jurassic Park’s sounds were found in some unusual ways. But how else can you find sounds that are supposed to represent an extinct animal that no one has ever seen or heard? Rydstrom scoured marine water parks, zoos, his own pet dog. Everything was up for consideration to bring the foreign personalities of dinosaurs to life on the big screen.

If your feeling nostalgic, IMDB has an endless amount of resources from quotes to trivia on the hugely popular Jurassic Park.

A quick synopsis of the movie from IMDB is “During a preview tour, a theme park suffers a major power breakdown that allows its cloned dinosaur exhibits to run amok.”

If there is one thing that sent Jurassic Park over the top and made it the classic that it is, it’s the powerful music. The Jurassic Park theme song is one of the most recognizable songs in Hollywood. The great melody can give you goosebumps when the team of doctors is flying to the remote island and lowering onto the helipad.

Jurassic Park is the movie that takes you back, as well as the movie that was so ahead of its time in technology that its special effects are still believable over 20 years later.

Begin your summer by sitting down and watching Jurassic Park in between your binge worthy shows. It’s guaranteed that childhood memories will appear in your head, and you’ll feel like a kid again. It might be good to have a different perspective on things for a little while. Maybe you can even uncover some important things about your past by watching Jurassic Park.

It’s funny how movies can take you back to the time when you first saw them. Introduce Jurassic Park to your kids, they will thank you.
