Johnny Depp Divorce: Lily-Rose Depp Rushes To Dad’s Side In The Wake Of Amber Heard Split And The Death Of His Mother

Just two days after Johnny Depp’s mother died, his wife, Amber Heard, filed for divorce. Lily-Rose Depp has flown in to be with her dad during the Johnny Depp divorce drama.

Depp’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer, passed away on May 20 after battling a long illness. Just two days later, Amber Heard petitioned to divorce Johnny Depp, with a request for spousal support included in her filing. Johnny and Amber were only married for 15 months.

In the wake of Johnny Depp’s divorce news, the actor’s rep has released a statement.

“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” the statement read. “Hopefully, the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”

It didn’t take long for Lily-Rose Depp to fly to Los Angeles to be by Johnny Depp’s side as he deals with the death of his mother and the death of his marriage within days of each other. Given the contentious way that Amber Heard has asked to end their marriage, many expect the Johnny Depp divorce to get pretty messy.

The most recent news is that Amber has accused Johnny of domestic violence. The American actress filed paperwork in an effort to get a restraining order, according to TMZ. Amber claims that Johnny hit her in the face and then offered to pay her not to talk about it. Despite it being just days after the death of his mom, Heard filed for divorce instead, according to the report. Then, just a few days after filing for divorce and asking for spousal support, Heard showed up in court to ask for a temporary restraining order because she felt that Johnny Depp is an immediate threat.

Lily-Rose Depp and Amber Heard have a rather close relationship, and E! Online reported that the two women are expected to remain close even after the Johnny Depp divorce.

“Amber and Lily Rose developed a strong bond early on,” an insider explained. “Amber and Lily-Rose spent many days together without Johnny; going shopping, going out to eat, the movies. They had their ‘girl’ time. It was more of a ‘cool older sister’ than a mom figure for Lily-Rose and Amber was totally OK with that.”

It’s hard to say how that will play out with Heard going after Johnny and his fortune just days after the death of his mother. The arrival of Lily-Rose Depp in Los Angeles is for the best, as her dad has been going through a lot over the past week, and many are worried about the Hollywood icon’s well-being.

Johnny Depp’s divorce was the last thing that he and his family wanted to worry about right now. With the death of his mother, Radar Online reports that the family has been working together to put together a memorial service for Betty Sue Palmer. That is likely the reason for the arrival of Lily-Rose Depp, and the divorce news is just icing on the cake. It is also another reason for Lily-Rose to stick around and be there for her dad, who certainly has plenty to grieve about right now.

“Everyone is trying to help with arrangements for his mom’s funeral and trying to get out there,” Radar’s source said. “If there is a service they’ll have it in Los Angeles. Johnny took care of everything else in his mother’s life, so he will take care of putting her to rest too.”

News that Lily-Rose Depp has flown to be with her father comes on her birthday. The already-mature actress turns 17-years old today as she takes her dad’s side to help him deal with the death of her grandmother. Hopefully, her presence will help Johnny Depp deal with his divorce news and allegations of spousal abuse right on the heels of the tragedy of losing his mom.
