‘Game Of Thrones’: Hodor Actor Asked To Hold The Door In Hilarious Prank By A ‘GOT’ Fan [Spoilers]
Game of Thrones once again rocked fans earlier this week by killing off a much-loved character in possibly one of the most bizarre possible ways. Since Sunday’s airing of the most recent Game of Thrones, fans of the show have taken to the internet to spoof the scene depicting Hodor’s demise in a multitude of mediums.
According to Digital Spy, the most recent episode of Game of Thrones showed what was arguably the biggest moment of the season so far. The episode revealed how Hodor, played by Kristian Nairn, originated and how his origin is tied to his death. It was undeniably a gripping episode that will leave behind some serious repercussions for Bran Stark, the character ultimately responsible for the demise of Hodor, a character who has sought to protect him throughout the series.
Ultimately, Hodor was killed as he attempted to hold a door closed, which lead to his name of Hodor. It’s a scene that the internet has run away with, with various memes and pranks popping up across the web.
However, possibly the most inventive of those pranks came from a British YouTube star, who managed to get actor Kristian Nairn, best known for playing the role of Hodor, in on the fun. The prank video first appears to show the YouTube star in the process of recording a normal piece of video content. However, he breaks away half way through the video, appearing to shout at somebody in the distance to “hold the door.” However, the biggest surprise comes when it appears to be Kristian Nairn who is the one holding the door.
As reported by BuzzFeed, the video has already attracted over two million views on YouTube, with the British star behind the prank being widely acclaimed. At the same time, the viral video has brought about a good deal of success for the YouTube network to which this prankster belongs, the Yogscast.

The YouTube video featuring Hodor himself is undeniably the most popular prank that’s arisen as a result of recent scenes on Game of Thrones. However, across the internet, various memes have quickly spread the story of Hodor’s demise, including many from big companies, including Amazon and Ikea. We already know that the majority of companies aren’t afraid of capitalizing on momentous TV occasions, and that’s especially been the case with this particular episode of Game of Thrones.

The first five seasons of Game of Thrones have shown that the show isn’t afraid of killing off key characters. However, whenever it does, the show only seems to become even more heartbreaking for fans, with no guarantee that your favourite character is going to beat the Game of Thrones and ultimately come out alive.
However, while Hodor’s demise has been largely speculated to have resulted in the character’s death, it is worth noting that his death wasn’t shown directly to viewers. Does this mean that the cruel writers of Game of Thrones could bring Hodor back as a White Walker? The future of the show remains to be seen, but with rumours that it could only have two shortened seasons left in it, following the conclusion of Season 6, the end of Game of Thrones is nearly in sight.
Game of Thrones fans now wait with baited breath to see which beloved character will be the next to face the wrath of the show’s creators.
