Kate Middleton Pregnant? Rumors About Baby No. 3, Marital Troubles Surface
Is Kate Middleton pregnant? Rumors of a third pregnancy causing a strain on Kate and William’s marriage are swirling in the British tabloids, according to the International Business Times.
An article surfaced in the Wednesday issue of InTouch Magazine. The weekly magazine claimed the popular royals are heading to “couples therapy.” The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge are facing both the difficulties most married couples endure and the added pressure of being royalty, according to the report by InTouch.
“Their issues are on an even bigger scale, and they’re constantly arguing at the moment about the pressure Kate is under, William’s attitude about it and how to raise their kids.”
But is Kate Middleton pregnant again? That rumor surfaced earlier this month when Kate reportedly told the Daily Star that she wants a third baby. Life & Style reported even earlier that twins were headed Middleton’s way. That turned out not to be true.
Gossip Cop has dismissed all the pregnancy rumors, past and present. The online celebrity rumor watchdog pointed out that InTouch once reported in 2011 that Kate could not get pregnant. Gossip Cop also pointed out that Life & Style, the magazine that got the twins story wrong, is a “sister” publication of InTouch, and that neither of these mishaps were even mentioned in the current article.
InTouch’s coverage can’t be trusted at all, according to Gossip Cop.
Kate Middleton being pregnant isn’t the only reason for the royals’ marital stress, though, says InTouch. The article claims, through a “royal insider,” that Kate feels the pressure of just being a royal and suggests that William’s attitude toward that stress is less than supportive.
The sad tale of William’s own royal parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, might lend credence to the InTouch claim. Though it lasted 14 years, a Huffington Post article says Charles and Di’s marriage hit the rocks only four years after their fairytale wedding. Princess Diana, under the same kinds of pressure as Kate Middleton, endured for 10 years. She told reporter Martin Bashir in 1995 that she “didn’t want to disappoint the public.”
Kate Middleton, pregnant and embattled, is untrue on both counts, says Gossip Cop. The InTouch article doesn’t mention even the possibility of divorce. The couples therapy report is an angle that covers the rumor. If Kate and William don’t divorce, it’s because of successful therapy, not because the InTouch story was made up.
However, this week’s rumors of marital issues between the royals aren’t the first. A 2015 IBT article on the couple said Kate was seen a week earlier at another appearance holding a purse to her belly the whole time.
Kate Middleton was pregnant and trying to hide the baby bump with her clutch, a source told the tabloid OK! Magazine. Gossip Cop correctly shot that rumor down.
Another report stated that Kate and William disagree on the number of children they want. Reports vary, either saying Kate wants a third baby by the time she turns 35-years-old this year or a fourth baby by the time she’s 40. But William is said not to be too keen on having a big family. William also reportedly was having trouble dealing with Kate’s postpartum depression, another stress put on any marriage.
Gossip Cop threw water on that one, too, saying that the rumor was “completely untrue.”
Kate Middleton pregnant and marital trouble rumors will, in time, be exposed for what they are: true or untrue. Meanwhile, the irrepressible Duchess and Duke go on about their royal business.
If Kate Middleton was pregnant, and if her marriage to William was in trouble, would it be a terrible thing to seek couples therapy, as InTouch calls it? Therapy isn’t always a bad thing.
