Kelly Ripa New Co-Host: Fred Savage Has Perfect Chemistry, Could Ink Deal

Kelly Ripa’s new co-host could be one step closer to being named!

Ripa is a lone ranger on Live! these days, but her new co-host is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Just weeks after Michael Strahan announced that he was leaving Live! to go to Good Morning America full-time, rumors about his replacement have hit an all-time high. The rumored front-runners to replace Strahan include Andy Cohen and Ryan Seacrest (because they clearly don’t work enough), but there is one guy in particular who seems perfect for the job.

Fred Savage.

Yeah, that kid from The Wonder Years.

Except, he’s no longer a kid. Fred Savage joined Kelly Ripa on Live! on Monday morning as one of her scheduled fill-ins. He will also be appearing on Tuesday’s show. Savage and Ripa have incredible chemistry, and his personality is so super fun and refreshing.

Could he be offered a deal to join Kelly Ripa on a daily basis?

Kelly Ripa and Fred Savage seemed to have a lot of fun together this morning. They were laughing together and their personalities (though both strong) really came through, one not overpowering the other, which is key when you have two people hosting one show.

And fans couldn’t agree more. Twitter lit up with comments about how awesome today’s show was and how Fred Savage would be an awesome choice as Kelly Ripa’s new co-host.

Kelly Ripa and Fred Savage joked about baby making and getting frisky with their respective spouses. Savage had Ripa laughing so hard that she said the back of her neck hurt! The two then interviewed Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones, and Savage totally held his own while chatting with the actress. It was, perhaps, when Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher joined Kelly and Fred on stage that viewers realized this guy is nothing short of perfect for the job.

According to ABC News, JoJo was grilled by Kelly and Fred, but in a fun way. The gorgeous brunette was laughing as the co-hosts tried to pry information out of her, which is typical for these types of interviews. Kelly and Fred kept inching closer to JoJo and at one point, Fred ended up half-sitting in Kelly’s chair! The best part, however, is that Fred kept his composure completely and acted totally normal while being silly. This is exactly what people love about Fred Savage, and they clearly want more!

Should Kelly Ripa’s new co-host be Fred Savage? According to his IMDb page, he isn’t working on any movies or television projects (unless he’s doing something privately or on the side), so maybe he could ink a deal!
