Jennifer Lawrence Talks Embracing Crows Feet And Decaying, Is She Done With ‘X-Men’?
It sounds as though Jennifer Lawrence may be getting to be too big of a star to stick around the set of X-Men films for much longer. Or maybe there just isn’t another opportunity for the actress to put on her Mystique getup for the hit franchise another time.

Lawrence sat down to chat about her role in the X-Men films and share as to whether or not she sees herself returning. In a chat with Entertainment Weekly, sadly, Lawrence shared that X-Men: Apocalypse may just be her last film for the franchise. Reasons for this, however, seem to lean on what it is her co-stars for the films opt to do in future.
Refinery29 clarifies the matter.
“The crux is that she, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and ex-beau Nicholas Hoult all had three picture deals that expired with this film. And their return is contingent on everyone else making their way back. So you can see why this might be an issue.”
Jen spoke with EW about the conversations she and castmates had about returning and notes that everyone was willing to return if others were to return.
“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking. Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”
Not returning to the role of Mystique might not be a big deal for Lawrence, seeing as in earlier interviews she shared how terrible it was to get dressed up in the character’s attire. She does share, however, that not really having any control over staying or going “sucks.”
“You go in and you realize you’re rock bottom and like this sucks and it could not suck more.”
When it comes to reprising the role, Jennifer Lawrence shares that she would love to if offered the ability to stay on in the films for another go.
“I would love to come back. I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.”

But her honesty is what we adore about the beauty. Jennifer Lawrence is always sure to share about what she believes in from body shaming to gender pay gap to not worrying about crows feet. That’s right. Most recently, Lawrence shared how she never worries about aging and wrinkles because focusing on such things will only take away from life’s happiness. Yahoo shares the star’s words on the reasons she is happy to “decay” naturally.
“If you are worried about wanting to look younger when you’re not, you’re not going to be a very happy person. You just have to find other things to make you happy that are much more important.”
The publication also reminds about Jen’s words regarding body image and putting a “new normal” in place.
“Everybody says, ‘We love that there is somebody with a normal body!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like I have a normal body.’ I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person. I think we’ve gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s curvy.’ Which is crazy. The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante. At least so I don’t feel like the fattest one.”
Jennifer Lawrence has a way of reminding women to embrace themselves as they are and to just be real while going after what you want most in life.
