Shawn Mendes Admits He ‘Loves’ Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello, ‘She Blows My Mind’

After months of rumors that the two are dating, Shawn Mendes is admitting that he “loves” Fifth Harmony superstar Camila Cabello, revealing that she “blows his mind.”

Shawn made the admission when quizzed about the current status of his and Camila’s long-speculated romance in a new cover feature for Seventeen magazine, where he also spoke out about the seemingly never-ending speculation that he and Cabello are a couple.

When asked about Cabello in the new interview, Mendes admitted that he thinks Camila is “phenomenal” and even finally admitted that he “loves” her, but probably not in the way everyone may think.

“I love her and she’s so talented. She’s one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met and super, super-smart… musically, she blows my mind,” Shawn continued of Camila to the magazine, but just because Mendes is seriously gushing over the Fifth Harmony beauty, that doesn’t actually mean they’re dating.

Shawn once again, bluntly, put an end to months of speculation that he and Cabello are a couple, telling Seventeen, “We aren’t dating.”

This is just the latest relationship denial from Shawn, which comes just days after Mendes also blasted reports that he and Camila are boyfriend and girlfriend in a recent interview with Britain’s CapitalFM radio.

Shawn candidly spoke out about his and Camila’s widely speculated romance in the radio interview earlier this month, admitting that although they’re untrue, rumors that he and the Fifth Harmony star are a couple are “okay.”

Revealing that the constant romance reports are nothing but “water off a duck’s back” to him, Shawn told host Dave Berry during the U.K. radio interview that the speculation surrounding himself and Cabello’s relationship is actually “fine.”

“It’s fine, honestly, you can’t expect as an artist to do a collaboration with a girl and the world not think you’re dating, so it’s okay,” Shawn said, referring to his and Camila’s duet, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which the twosome released last year.

Shawn Mendes then opted to put the Camila Cabello dating rumors to rest once and for all, bluntly admitting on the radio show that he and Cabello are “not dating.”

“So that’s straight there,” Mendes said, telling the host, “Don’t ask again.”

But, despite Shawn’s constant romance denials, that hasn’t stopped Shawn’s and Fifth Harmony’s fans from taking to social media to will the friends into a romance.

“I really want Shawn and Camila to date bcuz he is such a good guy but at the same time I think their just really good BESTIES,” @CAMEEELAC97 tweeted out on May 11. While @lilouis91 recently wrote on the social media site, “I want shawn and camila to date so bad.”

“Can Shawn & Camila just date already I’m getting old,” Shawn Mendes fan @irongrier added on Twitter. Also chiming in was @dignityjustin, who stated on the social media site, “I don’t understand why Shawn & Camila won’t date.”

Shawn and Camila have always played coy about rumors that they’re dating, or at least have dated in the past, despite E! News reporting in September 2015 that the two were officially an item as they geared up to release their duet.

The site claimed, at the time, that Mendes and Cabello had grown close while Fifth Harmony and Mendes both performing on a joint tour with Austin Mahone.

Though Camila and Shawn neither officially confirmed nor denied E! News‘ report, an insider close to the supposed one-time couple told the site at the time that Cabello and Mendes “really like each other and laugh nonstop when they’re together.”
