Uma Thurman Attacked? Rep Says Make Out With Italian Entrepreneur Was Not Consensual

Was Uma Thurman attacked at a charity auction? She might have been. The actress hosted the amfAR’s 23rd Cinema Against AIDS Gala when she was grabbed by Italian entrepreneur Lapo Elkann for an impromptu make out session.

The make out session was photographed, and according to Uma Thurman’s rep, it wasn’t exactly consensual. While Elkann won a chance to kiss Thurman after bidding and winning the $196,000 prize, Thurman’s rep is adamant that the entrepreneur behavior was unacceptable.

Thurman’s rep told Daily Mail about what went down and Thurman’s thoughts about the make out session.

“It is opportunism at its worst. She wasn’t complicit in it. Somewhere in his [mind] he must have thought it an appropriate way of behaving. It clearly wasn’t. It looks like she was happy to have it happen, but it was not consensual.”

After the ordeal, Uma Thurman posed with the winner, and although she’s smiling for the photos, her rep insists that she wasn’t happy that it happened at all.

Currently, Thurman seems to be dating hotelier Andre Balazs. The last we heard was that Thurman might be engaged or married as she was photographed in September of 2015 pushing suitcases through an airport, with a ring on her finger. The pair were, at one point, very on and off, taking a seven year break, before getting back together in 2014.

Although she’s known for her iconic roles in Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, Thurman’s love life used to be at the center of discussion due to rumored famous loves. Of course, Thurman was married to Ethan Hawke for years, and the two share two children together, Maya and Levin. The two divorced in 2004, and soon after Thurman was rumored to be in a relationship with director Quentin Tarantino, who called Thurman his muse. That said, their relationship was never confirmed or denied.

Back in August of 2014, Thurman spoke of their relationship status.

“I was discussing [the rumors] with Mr. Tarantino last night. He was angry at me for not calling him back because as he said, ‘According to the papers we are practically married!’ and he laughed hysterically.

“So our relationship, is pretty much what it’s always been; people are just having fun with it.”

In a separate interview, back in 2004, Thurman was a bit more introspective about the nature of their relationship.

“I think we’re really different people actually, but that’s what’s fun about talking to each other. We have very different perspectives. He’s a very extroverted, public person. I’m a very introverted person. We’re just very different characters, but somehow or other…”

That said, sources told Us Weekly that Tarantino “has loved her for years.”

“There has always been an attraction. She has indulged from time to time, and that’s how their relationship has always worked.”

A source also said that once she split from her boyfriend Arpad Busson, she sought out comfort in Tarantino.

“They talk often. They go out to lunch in NYC when he’s around. He always tries to find a role for her, or have her involved somehow.”

As for Tarantino, he has been romantically linked to Sofia Coppola and Mira Sorvino.

Back in January of this year, there were talks that Kill Bill 3 was in the works with Uma. Of the news, Tarantino said the following.

“I’ve been very non-committal about it, and I’m not committing to it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done. ”
