‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Finale Spoilers — Jackson To Deliver April’s Baby? Will They Get Back Together For Season 13?
Season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy has reached its end. With only one episode remaining, there are still a lot of questions left unanswered for the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial.
For starters, International Business Times is reporting that the finale, titled “Family Affair,” is going to be another emotional episode. While Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) suffered heartache in their custody fight, the finale will focus on Jackson and April’s new baby.
The penultimate episode featured Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) interacting with each other on friendly terms. With their relationship now on good terms, many fans are holding out hope of a future reunion.
“They definitely have hope. I think, as long as they’re alive, they’re going to have hope because they care deeply about each other. I would be hard-pressed to ever say the slate is wiped completely clean,” Williams explained in an interview with TV Line.
Jackson and April’s relationship was forever changed after the death of their first baby. While the two decided to end their relationship to avoid fighting, April’s pregnancy with their second child only complicated their situation.
“Jackson and April know each other better than I think anybody else in this world. They’ve been through so much and have seen each other at their highs and their lows. So even though they’re divorced, they’re still clearly each other’s person,” Williams explained. “Even if they were to move on in some form or fashion, that’s still the person that you know most intimately. There’s certainly a magnetic draw physically between them.”
Meanwhile, Morning Ledger is reporting that Jackson might be the one who delivers April’s baby. Will their constant interactions in the Grey’s Anatomy finale lead to a future reunion?
At this point, it is unclear whether or not Jackson and April will get back together. While they clearly still love each other, their past drama and tragedy will be a major obstacle in a potential reunion.
Jackson and April’s first baby, Samuel, was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 2. Although they tried to induce labor early to prevent death, Samuel died shortly after birth.
Ever since Samuel’s death, Jackson and April have fought with each other over a variety of issues, including how to raise their children. Things got so bad that they sought help through a month’s worth of marriage counseling.
In the end, the two decided enough was enough and filed for divorce.
Of course, April’s new baby certainly complicates their relationship. Considering how happy they will be with the birth of a new child, it is possible that Jackson and April will work through their differences and get back together.
Apart from Jackson and April, the finale will also focus on Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) relationship with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone). According to Movie News Guide, fans can expect plenty of drama as they prepare for their wedding.
“Owen decides he’s going to take a huge step that kind of leads them into a conversation about ‘What is the future for us?'” McKidd revealed to TV Line, adding that fans can expect a “really beautiful and romantic” moment between the two characters.
In the previous episode, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) both offered their support for Amelia and her relationship with Owen. With things going so well for the two, will they actually make it down the aisle?
Elsewhere, the finale will also reveal the secret Jo (Camilla Luddington) has kept from Alex (Justin Chambers) this season, which is expected to cause a lot of problems in their relationship. Could it be the reason why she refuses to marry him?
The Season 12 finale of Grey’s Anatomy is set to air Thursday night on ABC.
