‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: Will Cristina ‘Crash’ Owen & Amelia’s Wedding In Season 12 Finale?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 is set to be a huge episode, and Owen and Amelia’s wedding will be the main focus of many of the characters. However, their wedding day won’t go off without a hitch, and it will be a very dramatic moment for all those involved.

According to TV Line, the big Grey’s Anatomy wedding may have more than a few hurdles to jump leading to Owen and Amelia walking down the aisle, and a big obstacle standing in their way could be Owen’s ex-wife, Cristina Yang.

Although Cristina Yang moved to Zurich in Season 10 of the ABC medical drama, her best friend Meredith Grey still feels the need to watch over her ex-husband, Owen, as she promised Cristina she would do. Although it’s unlikely that Dr. Yang will actually make a physical appearance at the wedding, she’ll be there in spirit, and that may not be a good thing.

“[Meredith] still feels like she’s Owen’s guardian, and she takes that role very seriously. She still has that allegiance to Cristina, so she has some issues with [the marriag,] and she also has her own issues with Amelia, so there’s some friction between them,” actor Kevin McKidd revealed.

Although Grey’s Anatomy fans have been hoping that Sandra Oh would return to reprise her role as Cristina Yang on the series, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon. However, it’s implied that Cristina is still very much apart of Meredith’s life even though she’s not regularly talked about or seen.

In the previous episode, Meredith was seen telling Amelia that she needs to get her own life, because she’s doing Derek’s job, marrying Cristina’s ex-husband, and living in the same house with her and her sister, Maggie, while helping to raise her children. This hit hard with Amelia and could have been the main reason she wanted to race down the aisle with Owen — to prove she’s an adult with her own life.

Meanwhile, Grey’s Anatomy fan-favorite couple Jackson and April will be going through something very serious in the Season 12 finale. April will go into labor, and she might not make it to the hospital. Although Ben is there to help her, Jackson and his friend may be forced to deliver April’s baby right there in her apartment.

Fans are hoping that the birth of their child with bring Jackson and April even closer, eventually push them to get back together, and possibly even get re-married.

Grey’s Anatomy viewers have been begging for a Jackson/April romantic reunion since the couple first split, and seeing them lose their son, be torn apart by distance and grief, and then get a divorce after realizing that they couldn’t work through their issues was heartbreaking for many fans who love the couple nearly as much as they loved Meredith and Derek together.

Although, Meredith fans may have a new couple to root for very soon. Dr. Grey recently had a steamy hook-up with Dr. Nathan Riggs, and the two could easily become Grey Sloan’s newest “it” couple. However, Owen will likely have many objections to Meredith and Nathan having a romantic relationship due to the fact that Owen blames Nathan for the death of his sister.

The Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 finale will likely arouse many questions from fans, but it’s being reported that the show will end on a bit of a positive note. This could mean that either Owen and Amelia get married or April and Jackson share in the joy of their baby’s birth.
