JoJo Fletcher Set Her ‘Bachelorette’ Bar High Thanks To Ben Higgins

JoJo Fletcher is “back back back…Back again,” as ABC’s new Bachelorette and her season begins Monday, May 23. The Dallas-based real estate developer celebrated with a stunning Instagram post on Monday. Fletcher captioned her photo with a reference to rapper Eminem’s “Without Me.”

As Us Weekly reports, this was JoJo Fletcher’s very first Instagram post since she began filming The Bachelorette earlier this year. In March, host Chris Harrison announced on the “After the Final Rose” episode that Fletcher would appear as the Season 12 Bachelorette. At the time, JoJo had just been left brokenhearted by Bachelor Ben Higgins when he chose Lauren Bushnell over her during one of the most gut-wrenching finales ever.

As devastated as JoJo Fletcher was, she handled her encounter with Ben and Lauren on the “After the Final Rose” special with nothing but class and grace. JoJo said she considered Lauren Bushnell a friend and that she had no ill feelings toward Ben Higgins at all. It appears that Fletcher was not only being truthful in those sentiments but that she also used the experience to learn what she truly wants in a relationship.

In a recent interview with E! News, host Chris Harrison commended JoJo Fletcher for not being the least bit bitter over being hurt by Ben Higgins. In fact, he said that JoJo was able to set her bar very high based on her relationship with Ben. This allowed Fletcher to be laser focused on what she wanted in a man during her Bachelorette journey.

“Obviously she had her heart broken with Ben. You know what’s really cool? I haven’t really talked about this at all yet, the fact that the wasn’t really bitter about what happened with Ben. And she actually kind of used that as a bar that was set of this is what I’m looking for, I know this exists.”

As JoJo Fletcher headed to the mansion to meet the 26 men competing for her heart, she knew exactly what she was looking for in her “unicorn.” Fletcher found love in Ben Higgins and even though it didn’t work out as she planned, it gave her hope that it does exist and that she will find it as The Bachelorette.

“She was very particular and very specific about this guy is going to have to be pretty phenomenal, as good as Ben was, to capture my heart.”

Chris Harrison also told Yahoo TV that JoJo Fletcher has never once spoken negatively about Ben Higgins behind the scenes. Despite the fact that “it would be so easy for her to be pissed off,” Fletcher turned her pain into a positive and made Ben the example that these new men must live up to.

“The thing I like most about her was that she took that whole thing with Ben as a positive. I was kind of surprised how honest she has been about how much she loved Ben, how much she appreciates him, how good of a guy he was, and how she now knows what a good man looks like. She consistently throughout the season compares these guys to him and says how they need to step up.”

Harrison describes JoJo Fletcher’s suitors as a “very dynamic group.” As The Inquisitr previously reported, Jojo’s 26 men were revealed earlier this week. There are some interesting personalities in the mix, including an erectile dysfunction specialist who is very in touch with his sexual energy; a hipster who’s also hopeless romantic; and a Bachelor superfan who’s never had a one night stand. There’s also a firefighter, a Marine, a former pro quarterback, and more.
