‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Robert Kirkman Confirms Which Main Character Will Die
The Walking Dead Season 7 is one of the most highly-anticipated premieres of the year, and fans are eager to find out any new information or spoilers about what lies ahead for Rick Grimes and his group of survivors. Recently, the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, dished on the a huge possible death, and stunned fans.
According to Movie Pilot, The Walking Dead‘s main character, Rick Grimes, will die sometime in the future. Robert Kirkman confirmed the death news during a Reddit AMA (ask me anything) this week.
When one Walking Dead fan asked Kirkman if Rick will ever die, Robert answered that the central character will kick the bucket “eventually.” Of course, fans of the comic series and television show know that the motto has always been that no one is safe from death, but most fans seem to think that Rick and his son, Carl, are likely the sole survivors of their post apocalyptic world. However, that may not be the case.
Robert Kirkman, who loves to tease fans and play with their emotions, also revealed that he doesn’t play favorites when it comes to his characters, and that they will all die eventually, even Carl Grimes.
“I don’t play favorites. They all die eventually…Carl.”
Perhaps the most shocking moment to date on the show was the Season 6 finale, where viewers finally got to meet Negan, and the super villain took it upon himself to beat one member of Rick’s group to death with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. Was that person Rick or Carl Grimes?
While it doesn’t seem likely that either of the Grimes men was Negan’s victim, especially since Negan made the comment about cutting out Carl’s other eye and feeding it to Rick if anyone moved while he killed his victim, that doesn’t mean one of them won’t die in the future.
So many Walking Dead viewers believe that Carl is the show’s endgame, and that he could be the last man standing when the series is over, but at this point there is no way to even speculate about what might happen when it’s all said and done, or who may be left when the show eventually ends.
The show has reportedly been planned through Season 12 as of now, and with the comic book storylines and the show writers to put them together season after season, there is no telling how long the series could last if the ratings stay high, or which characters will fall in the future.
The most popular theories have Glenn Rhee, who is Negan’s victim in the comic book series, Daryl Dixon, and Abraham Ford as the characters most likely to have been murdered by Negan.
Glenn is the most obvious choice as he dies in the comic books, but Daryl could also easily have been beaten to death by Negan. Daryl is a character who is not in the comic book series, so he could die at any time.
Meanwhile, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, an on-set source allegedly revealed that it will be Abraham Ford who will be killed by Negan when Season 7 rolls around, and fans seem to almost be hoping it’s Abe to keep Daryl and Glenn safe, for now.
