There is also word that Josh Duhamel, who was absent for Age of Extinction, will be back for the upcoming film as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox. Production on Transformers: The Last Knight is set to begin in Detroit on June 6, according to Coming Soon. Much of the highly-anticipated action movie will be filmed there as well as a few other undisclosed locations all over the globe. The script will be written by Iron Man alums Art Marcum and Matt Holloway as well as Ken Nolan who is best known for Black Hawk Down. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, and Tom DeSanto have been pegged to produce the film.
Now that Transformers 5 has officially become Transformers: The Last Knight, many fans are wondering what the new title could mean. The new logo that was revealed in a brand new trailer looks suspiciously medieval with the title about knights and an Excalibur-type sword straight down the center. Does this mean there will be time travel in the next installment or is the sword purely symbolic? The A.V. Club is calling Mark Wahlberg’s character of Cade Yeager the last knight in the upcoming film. Many believe Optimus Prime is the last knight because the logo uses the same sword he found and used in the last film. Now fans wonder if the upcoming film will focus on Cade Yeager or Optimus Prime as the last knight or if it will be someone else entirely, like maybe whoever owns that sword.

Fans are excited about Paramount Pictures’ newest offering. Globally, the first four Transformers films have earned $3.7 billion. The most recent film in the franchise, Age of Extinction was the second-highest earner of all the movies and popularity for the franchise is still going strong.
Forbes is suggesting that the new movie title could be a major movie crossover hint. They pointed out that each Transformers movie logo has coincided with the lettering from the corresponding toy line. Is it possible that the Transformers franchise will work with Hasbro and bring in one of their characters? There have been more than one suggestion that the last knight might be Rom, a space knight who began as a toy in the 1970s and gained enough popularity to receive his own spinoff and comic book.
