WWE Rumors: Major Concern Over Health Of AJ Styles, And Vince McMahon Is Giving Up On Roman Reigns
This Sunday, the main event of Extreme Rules is going to see Roman Reigns defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles. Fans are starting to latch onto the feud a bit more as The Club has an actual name now and has formed as a stable. There are some major issues with the match, though, and it has to do with both superstars. WWE is seriously concerned about the health of Styles while Vince McMahon has actually given up on the idea of getting Reigns over.
Last week, it was revealed that WWE was going to hold AJ Styles out of the ring and off of the live events for the weekend. That was to help him heal up from a few nagging injuries which include one of his ankles and his back, according to Cageside Seats.
Styles wanted to update his fans, though, and let them know that things weren’t that bad.For those of you who were expecting to see AJ Styles this weekend, I apologize. Banged my ankle up pretty good, but I’ll be ready for RAW.

He did appear on last week’s Raw and was in action, but there may be a lot more concern over his well-being than WWE is letting on. Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Styles is going to accompany Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to the ring for their tag team match against The Usos, who will have Roman Reigns in their corner.
It is not expected that Styles will be involved physically in any way on Raw or SmackDown this week. As of this writing, all seems a go for the main event of Extreme Rules, and it is expected to still have the “extreme rules” stipulation and take place as planned.
Unfortunately, the health of AJ Styles isn’t the only issue for those in that main event match.
For the past two years, WWE has done almost nothing but push Roman Reigns to the moon and try to get him over with fans. He’s won the WWE World Heavyweight Title three times and is the current champion, but the majority of the fans could really care less.Still, WWE continued his mega-push, and it has come without much success. Ratings are down a lot from last year. The Rock’s people wouldn’t let Reigns near him at WrestleMania 32. Other superstars were even supposedly getting heat from WWE brass for not being able to get Reigns over.
Now, Daily Wrestling News is reporting that one of Reigns’ biggest supporters has lost faith in him, and he’s tired of the experiment.
Vince McMahon is said to be done with WWE trying to get Roman Reigns over as the face of the company and is just ready for them to move on. Triple H is still firmly behind Reigns as the WWE Champion, but Vinnie Mac wants someone different in the spotlight. This could lead to Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, and other NXT names being called up sooner rather than later.
With the head of WWE losing faith in its champion and the number one contender dealing with a number of injuries, it’s rather difficult to look at the Extreme Rules main event in a positive light.
If AJ Styles is truly dealing with injuries that may keep him out for any length of time, it is not going to make sense for him to win at Extreme Rules. If Vince McMahon has truly given up on Roman Reigns, he may end up dropping the WWE Title shortly after the upcoming pay-per-view. It’s really not great news for the company as they head into the big event, but things should be cleared up by the time next week’s Monday Night Raw rolls around.
