‘The Vampire Diaries’: Candice King’s Wish For Caroline’s Love Life – ‘TVD’ Star Talks ‘Steroline’

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale, titled “Gods & Monsters” aired last Friday on The CW network. The episode brought Caroline back together with Stefan, at least that is what it seemed like, which made “Steroline” fans happy. Recently, actress Candice King spoke about who she wishes Caroline would get together with. The TVD cast member also talked about Stefan Salvatore and how Caroline has evolved over the seasons.

Warning: Possible spoilers for the Season 7 finale of TVD may be ahead! Proceed with caution if you have not seen “Gods & Monsters.”

On the last episode of TVD, Caroline and Stefan ended up back together. However, their relationship is not official. Next season, fans will see if “Steroline” has a future together or not. As for forgiving Stefan, some wondered if Alaric would react badly. However, he actually pushed Caroline to do what makes her happy. He would not keep her from the twins, and no matter what, Caroline and Alaric would remain a family.

Even though “Steroline” has a lot of shippers, there are other TVD fans who want Caroline with Klaus Mikaelson or someone else. So, who does actress Candice King want to see her character with?

“At this point, I think it would be impossible for there to be a healthy love interest choice, but I love the idea of Caroline and Stefan together. I love the yin-yang of their relationship,” King told 303 Magazine regarding who Caroline Forbes should be with. “He’s more brooding, and she’s very bubbly and all over the place, so I love that that’s where the show is kind of taking Caroline in her latest, more serious, romantic relationship – but I don’t know. Every year there’s always a curveball. This season, in particular, it was totally a curveball having Caroline and Alaric together, running their lives and being engaged. So, I have no idea where it’s going to go season eight, but personally, I love Caroline and Stefan together.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries will have the characters in some very different places. While “Steroline” seems to be back together, Bonnie has lost both Damon and Enzo. The identity of the creepy creature in the Vault needs to be addressed, as well as why it possessed the two vampires. Also, will they be found and if so, can Damon and Enzo be brought back or will it be too late?

Not much else is known about Caroline’s Season 8 storyline in TVD. However, Carter Matt came up with a wish list for the characters. The website suggested that the writers don’t spend too much time on “Steroline.” The statement is reasonable and while romantic drama is interesting, there is so much more to focus on in The Vampire Diaries. Either get Caroline and Stefan back together or don’t, but please resist the urge to keep viewers hanging when it comes to “Steroline.”

As for Caroline evolving over the seasons, King’s character wasn’t that impressive in the beginning. However, these days Caroline Forbes is a fan-favorite. Most viewers love and adore her.

While becoming a vampire can bring out a human’s darkest parts, it seems to have worked in Caroline’s favor. As her mother said years ago after the vampire transition, Caroline became confident. She was also stronger and more balanced. Not only did Caroline become stronger physically, but had improved mental and emotional strength, too. Well, except when she was turning off her humanity switch or Caroline’s emotions were going into overdrive. What did Candice King have to say about her character growing up?

“Obviously as the story line and show has gone on, we’ve just seen Caroline grow into this really strong character. She wasn’t this one-note Queen Bee who just tore people down for no reason,” King told 303 Magazine about Caroline’s character development on the vampire series. “We really got to know her and see her come out the other side of those angry teen years. I’ve been so grateful to be a part of this character for all of these seasons and to watch her grow as I’ve grown as well.”
