‘Dance Moms’ Season 7 Renewal, Cast: Maddie Ziegler Replaced By Minis, Abby Lee Miller Hopes For Future Collaboration

The last episode of Dance Moms Season 6 may have aired only a couple of days ago, but fans of the hit Lifetime series are already eager to find out what will happen in Season 7. Although the reality show’s ratings have plummeted in the last couple of episodes, viewers remain hopeful about its renewal.

With Maddie Ziegler’s exit from Dance Moms, Yibada predicted that Season 7’s ratings would only get worse. While the series amassed quite a following in the last six years, Maddie, along with sister Mackenzie, clearly has a stronger fan base compared to her co-stars. Several insiders claimed that with the two sisters leaving Dance Moms, together with their mother, Melissa Gisoni, things are not looking so great for the reality show.

It seems, however, that we have not seen the last of Maddie in Dance Moms just yet. ALDC coach Abby Lee Miller previously hinted that a collaboration may just happen in the future.

In a recent live YouTube broadcast, Abby revealed that she and Maddie might just end up working together soon. Amid rumors claiming that Maddie will soon leave ALDC for another studio, the Dance Moms Season 7 star explained that the Ziegler sisters will always remain under her care.

“Hopefully, wink wink, Maddie and I will work together again. She’s still at my studio. That’s never going to change. But hopefully were going to be working on another project that you might just see on your television screen [or] even your computer screen in the future. Keep your fingers crossed.”

Bustle recently shut down speculations that Ziegler will eventually return to Dance Moms after her stint on So You Think You Can Dance. The outlet pointed out that Ziegler’s priorities have changed. The 13-year-old dancer clearly has a lot on her plate in 2016, from filming Colin Trevorrow’s The Book of Henry, being the youngest addition to SYTYCD, and preparing for another movie, this time with best pal Sia, titled Sisters.

The publication further speculated that Dance Moms Season 7 will most likely focus on the ongoing feud between the elite dancers and the minis.

“Her return seems mildly unlikely, given the big changes in store on the show. The moms of Dance Moms have been living up to their reputations during Season 6 by being particularly harsh to the moms of the Mini dance team.”

In March, Maddie Ziegler confirmed that she is leaving Dance Moms to concentrate on her acting career. In a couple of episodes in Season 6, Maddie and Melissa would always talk about how difficult it was to juggle all their commitments. They shared that they had to pass up on several opportunities to be on Dance Moms. It seems, however, that the drama between Abby Lee Miller and the moms was what pushed them to leave in the end.

While thankful for all that Miller has done for her children, Gisoni thought that it was time for her daughters to move on to bigger and better things. The reality star also explained that she’s done with all the needless drama surrounding the show.

“Honestly, I’d rather be with you on a job than with moms that are all negative all the time. I don’t want to sit on a bench anymore. I’m sick of it. We’ve turned a lot of things down and I just don’t want to do that anymore. We just have to be more available. There is more to the world than dance competitions.”
