The ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie: Amusing Things Michael Fassbender And The Cast Could Do To Add Humor For Fans Of The Games

The Assassin’s Creed movie and its cast appear to be doing an admirable job, possibly making the first socially loved movie directly based on a video game. Even Michael Fassbender’s ignorance going into it could be a good sign, though there are some things that he and the cast could do to get a chuckle out of fans of the video game series.

What is the first thing veterans of the Assassin’s Creed series usually do? Many of us simply run around and climb tall structures to “synchronize” and activate fast travel points. This often takes a good half of our time, and Michael Fassbender‘s Aguilar could definitely make a reference to that. Early in the movie, we could see him climbing a tall building, and he could mutter, “Why am I doing this again?”

Then the operator played by Marion Cotillard can remind him, “We need to sync the map. Just do this every time you see a tall building. I know it’s annoying, but it’s necessary.”

After reaching the top, as suggested by the trailer and the Assassin’s Creed movie’s poster, he jumps from that height, and I’m assuming he lands in a cart full of hay. Fassbender could get a laugh by looking down and asking, “Why would I jump into that from way up here?”

“Just take a leap of faith. Your ancestor did a lot more, so there is a good chance he’ll survive somehow,” will be the answer. He jumps and lands as promised.

Aguilar breaks the cart on impact and staggers out, “That hurt. Why am I listening to you anyway?”

Another common trope from the video game series is how stabbing people in the back with a short blade kills them instantly. That wouldn’t work in real life, even if you sever the spine. You might make them unable to walk, but they’d still be alive. This could get a laugh as Fassbender is ordered to assassinate a Templar. The Templar could turn around after the stabbing blow doesn’t work and ask why he did that. Aguilar would reply, “Why aren’t you dying?”

“You jumped from a tall building into a cart full of hay and you’re asking me why I’m not dead? That’s a bit ironic.”

A little later in the Assassin’s Creed movie, there could be a botched attempt at stealth, after which Aguilar ends up with a crowd of guards chasing him across the city. He could turn a corner and sit on a bench between two people who look nothing like him and suddenly the crowd of guards can’t find him.

When they finally disperse, he could say, “Were people really that stupid back then? Oh wait, I made that jump and survived it. I’m starting to think my ancestor was a superhero.” He then sees a sword one of them dropped and mutters, “I wish I had a way to grab that from here,” referencing his role as Magneto in the X-Men series.

They could get away with it, too, considering that the Assassin’s Creed movie is a 20th Century Fox production, as are the X-Men films.

After an intense action scene where Aguilar escapes a group of guards by throwing down an over-powered smoke bomb, we could have Fassbender ask the operator to stop the simulation for an emergency. Poking fun at the way the Animus is designed for the movie, he could race off for the restroom mentioning something about how that Mexican food he had earlier was not a good idea.

The Assassin’s Creed movie cast could have a lot of opportunities to poke fun at the video game franchise. Do you have any ideas I didn’t mention?
